The way I see it, if everyone buys up all the physical inventory in retail, then they need to get more stock. A major physical silver shortage will mean that premiums rise, since they will not let paper silver prices rise as much as physical demand dictates. So the premium will get very large. So they need more stock to take advantage of the high premiums. A quick place to get that will be for wholesalers to stand for delivery on the COMEX in order to sell to refiners to sell to retailers to meet physical demand. The larger the premium, the more wholesalers that will be standing for delivery to make this quick profit. Eventually, this will bleed out the COMEX. After that...anything is possible.

That's not what happened at all. The Hunt Brothers were correct, so the rules on CONEX were changed to trap them.

So buying up almost all the silver on the internet only increased the price of silver

from $27

to $28.50

Most important is you cant manipulate the price of physical commodities in the long run. That is why TPTB don't want the currency linked to physical commodities. Sure they blab out economic reasons and make some cool formulas, but those reasons are all trumped by the first sentence.

Also everyone with silver junk coins sold them. Try to find a US quarter that is older then 1965 in circulation.

(Kitco News) - Unprecedented investor interest in silver has continued through the weekend, spilling into the physical market with many bullion dealers unable to keep up with the demand.

After creating massive short-squeezes in stocks like Gamestop, Blackberry and AMC, retail investors mobilized over social media started to focus on the silver market. Reddit's Wall Street Bets has been one of the leaders of the organized mob with its subreddit discussion: 'The biggest short squeeze in the world $SLV Silver $25 to 1000$.'

The mobilization of retail investors in the silver market has created an impressive move for the precious metal. March silver futures prices ended Friday around $27 an ounce, for a 5% gain.

In anticipation of a massive open Sunday evening, retail investors have been busy buying physical bullion over the weekend. Many bullion dealers have had to stop processing online orders because of the unprecedented demand, in the face of price uncertainty.
