Not your keys? Not your coins. Period. Write your 12/24 word combo down with a pencil and paper. No fancy stuff. Just. A. Pencil. And. Paper. Or, go full base58 and write down the actual private key itself. |

Anonymous Coward (OP) User ID: 79554882 United States 02/09/2021 11:54 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | I’m telling truth. I did not have a “bitcoin app” i was using whatever the miner software was recomended circa 2013-14. I am away from home for a few days but i can return to this thread when i get home Friday, what info would i need to collect? Since bitcoin is a block chain, that records every transaction, shouldnt there be a record of who took my bitcoin? I jnow i had a bitcoin wallet and a bitcoin account number, still do i suppose. |

Anonymous Coward User ID: 79985670 United States 02/09/2021 12:01 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | So i was an early adopter and i “mined” to 1.7 bitcoin back in 2013. In 2014, i stopped as the power bill was seriously being affected, (it was adding like 2-300 a month and i didnt see the value at the time) Anyway, fast forward to 2016. I had moved in 2014, and bouggt a new pc, so i wasnt using my old pc with the bitcoin app on it. I started the app, logged in and was told my bitcoins were forfeit because i hadnt used the app for some period of time. (Cant remember what it was but i want to say 6 months) Quoting: Anonymous Coward 79554882 So buyer beware, butcoin is inherently scam prone and there is NO RECOURSE when you’re ripped off. It's your mining software and the I AGREE you clicked on when installing it... |

If you were mining on your own you should have the keys somewhere. If you were mining through an app, find the authors - they owe you a lot of money. |

Once a block is closed, it is closed. I suppose it might be possible for someone to investigate -- don't know who -- and how much are you willing to pay them for such a PITA experience.
