If they're able to get live telemetry data then they can certainly send a live video stream, even if it's low resolution and low fps. Especially these days with how good compression is. The fact that there's not even a single live picture of Mars tells you everything, it's fake as fuck.

But NASA use Devon Island in remote, uninhabited northern Canada to do "trials" of Mars missions. And the CGI looks like the low-budget CGI you see on SyFy Channel movies. Why is it so hard to use the state-of-the-art CGI? Is that off-limits?

I've seen YouTube live streams from the outdoors from a iPhone in 1080p at 10mbps that look AMAZING. Yet NASA footage is low-rez, low-bitrate that looks like a video CD from 1991.
