Texans think they'll fight a civil war and secede, but they can't even keep the power on or shelves stocked. lol

Have a look at the charcoal under the empty meat counter. Completely full. Not one bag missing. Seems odd that power was out, all the meats are gone and the charcoal is untouched.
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 72497887

No joke!! Two wks in central NC w/out power in Sept after hurricane Fran ripped thru'. Had to lock-n-load just to go out to grocery stores that had 18 wheelers pulling in w/ charcoal and folks throwing hands-n-feet.

That's a familiar site

I had gotten a job stocking at a local acme just a few months prior to the run on the stores. Was quite the experience. I figured after all that, people would be better prepared in the future. Maybe not huh ?

Most of the pictures show empty refrigerated units. That food had to be tossed because of loss of power. They probably had police guarding the dumpsters there too.

The frozen turkeys are completely stocked, you can see them in the back cases, so no.

My local Walmart store had to shut down for a few days because the grocery department was stripped bare, nearly all isles. Then it reopened to sell bread, water and softdrinks for a few hours (they got deliveries) then shut down again.

BCS here. Grocery store shelves still sparse.

These are the times when being a prepper makes for a less painful short term doom scenario. My kids got to learn that you can start a gas cookstove with a match, or clicker, and a cast iron dutch oven (new term for them) fixes a mean roast, and some badass jambalaya. No Ninja Foodie required.

I was fully prepped for the COVID painic, but went out on panic day for 2 reasons

1. To look like everyone else and not draw attention to myself as a prepper.

2. Curiousity.

LOTS of panicked Karens running around, looking shell shocked, grabbing whatever frozen, pre-prepared thing they could find, and looking at what fresh meats/produce with very confused "what-the-hell-do-I-do-with-this?" expressions on their faces.

Was probably very much the same immediately pre arctic blast, I imagine. Funny thing is, we had a week's heads-up in the forecast.

Cuz shit happens!!!!!
So why do you buy insurance? cuz shit happens!

Hell we could go a year and never need to go to a store, sure I will be doing without some things we like.

Remember the GREAT toilet paper shortage of 2020?
and the mile long lines at the grocery stores of 2020.
Every hurricane or snow event that the sheep-people empty store shelves.

Our just in time supply chain is easily disrupted.
Keep your preps stacked and rotated!

A un-prepared person is part of a problem when a disaster happens! Who is going to feed my babies, they need diapers !!! Its cold out here!!! Who is going to pay for this!
It is all about them when shit happens!

So don't be part of the problem you selfish asshole's!

Loss of power caused massive loss of food in freezers and refrigerators.

We went there the other day and they had all the lights off except the cash registers.

I was so sad, the hills liquor store in the parking lot was closed.
