It’s never happened before in the history of the world! Why, people in power are all snow-white innocents, and butter likely wouldn’t melt in their mouth. /sarc Why, WHY so much coverage of this? Is it because Kashoggi was a “journalist”, as if that makes him special somehow? So, the tinpot ruler of a third-world country has one of his people offed. Big deal, it happens WEEKLY somewhere in the world; maybe it happens a little more subtly or obliquely than it did to this guy, but it happens, and you don’t see all the hand-wringing and pearl-clutching that this incident has generated. I suspect that this is being kept up in the press to act as leverage in regards to Saudi policies, like accepting renminbi for oil. |
