We called them to notify them of the error, and they reversed both transactions. We purposely left a buffer in our account thinking they would discover it and re-process the one valid payment, but they never did. Free boat ride, I guess? Another time, same exwife, got in a pretty bad car wreck. Submitted a claim to the insurance company, dropped the car off to get it fixed. Insurance company sent us the repair check - something like 4 grand - instead of sending it to the repair shop. We go to pick up the car, tell the shop owner that we need to pay him because the insurance company screwed up. The guy was adamant that we didn't owe anything and that the insurance company would be sending him a check. We must have argued with him for a good 30 minutes, but finally gave up and got a receipt showing that we owed zero and drove off. Held on to that money for about six months, but never heard anything else from the shop, so we essentially got paid 4k for being in a wreck. "The more you know, the less you fear." RIP, Tandym. |
