Murder of sylvia likens

God help us. It turned my stomache to read this. It's horrifying to the nth degree what Sylvia Likens endured and how she died.

Soooooo tragic.

She could have reported the abuse but chose not to.
The sisters could have told their parents about the abuse but chose not to.

So therefore......?

Therefore I don’t understand, why she put up with it.

They made her story into a movie.
Much watered down for TV.

Interesting that you're focusing on someone, a tossed-around young girl, trying to cope with enormous odds against her, with her burden for her younger sister, and being heinously abused and tortured, and TRAPPED in it all.....so it's Sylvia's fault, eh?

That's one of the worst things I have ever read on so many levels. It makes you wonder just how many people have it in them to do this kind of thing.

Not one of the kids or adults who came to the house including a minister said anything. Really awful what that girl went through.

Those were different times and there was little awareness or concern really over domestic abuse. People were just expected to do the right thing in the privacy of their own home.

Husbands who beat their wives were left alone by the law for the most part, and there were few protection laws for children.

So she was certainly terrified of what that woman would do to her if she told anyone, as they would have believed that woman over her, so she likely did not want to risk something even worse happening to her.

Exactly, its more disheartening than milgram experiment shit. Not only were people followers, they enjoyed their evil.

As much as its obvious that satan is doing his job... it's hard to take it in..
.I think we are conditioned to believe deep down everyone has something decent...but that's just not true.
