I saw something like that years ago
and after working his ass off and spending
a shitload of money on equipment and acid,
and surplus boards etc, he wound up with a
CHUNK of gold the size of the head of a pin.

I thought, "PASS".

The problem with both the OPS method and this one is yes, you can get gold this way and gold IS valuable, but you'd be better off collecting cans on the side of the road if you want to make any money at it unless you have access to a very large number of circuit boards, or in an area where rivers yeild a profitable amount of gold. You can break your back all day and get five milligrams in any stream in the USA..

All the components/chips attached to the circuit board are worth more than the gold.

All those circuit boards become toxic once they are heated up. It's a good idea however the costs outweigh the benefits energy and health wise.

no ROI today but stacking the boards to recover after the comex crash in September, absolutely

you forgot to tell people those chemicals cost as much as the gold extracted and no one paid for the time it took.

I've wondered if the San Francisco Bay is full of gold at the bottom. All the rivers from the California Gold Country feed into the Sacramento River which empties into the bay. Over thousands or millions of years you would think a lot of that gold would end up there.

I remember when scrap circuit boards contained lots of gold, and companies would have smelting companies recover precious metals. You didn't do it youself with drug store chemicals.

Yep. Utterly ridiculous amount of materials required as well as actual time and labor. The cost alone to fill out all the tools and supplies will put you well into the negative compared to the what you get in gold.
