I've had 3 - 90/98/2009.

They've gotten progressively worse. My '09 got 10mpg less than my '98. Rattles, road noise, shitty transmission.

Still reliable, though...just maddening.

I think Honda's sweet spot was the early 90s.

Going to get a new Corolla hatchback myself. It came down to a Civic and the Toyota. Both cars are excellent in my opinion.

Got a new Civic in Oct 2006 and 166,415 miles later it is still in my driveway! I have maintained it by the book and only problem I have had is the radio died a few years ago and I replaced it with same radio off EBay.

This has been a fantastic car and I hope to drive it to 200K or so.

2014 civic lighter. more responsive... more fun to drive and more comfortable than 2017 corolla.

Loving the civic, but corolla gets better mileage for some reason.

My dream car when I was growing up was a honda civic hatchback with the manual shifter in the dashboard. Not sure why.

Same with European cars. Upper middle class to wealthy customers only.

My VW is 10 years old with 95,000 miles. Mechanic I've used for over 40 years said:

Buy a Honda, KIA, or Toyota.

bought a new one in 2016

still runs great

around 40k miles on it
