Anyone in the area that can confirm? I didn't see them on any of the radars. Quoting: fooz What direction were they headed. Had one fly over last week headed to Barksdale really low. Been years since they flew over the house, used to be common in the 90's. 12 back to back, there wouldn't be any hiding that and it would grab plenty of attention. |

Dunderheaded me never thought about sitting down with this Major and pick his brain about B52's. I had other things on my mind. (Like a pretty gal with big juggies) But what was really neat was to go onto the base and look at the bunkers where the nukes were stored. Heck, the security at that time was so loose that civilians could get on the base through a back gate that was unlocked. They would travel down a dirt road to a lake and go bass fishing. If you continued on the road you'd hit a paved road which went right past the nuke bunkers. Good times for a young lad. |

The Air Force tries to fly sorties as many as possible to train the pilots and to keep the aircraft airworthy. I was a crew chief on f4d models F-16 and at one time on c-130s |

Air Force base in Blytheville, Arkansas. They used to have drills where between 8-16 B52s would take of in very short intervals. My Dad would obviously know when these drills were and we'd park at the end of the runway just off base and watch them take off. They'd be screaming about 60-80ft over my head. They were very loud and very big. It was a very, very cool experience.
