Great hydroponics videos! The Provident Prepper makes good videos. And good sandwiches. ;)

My apartment is on the third floor, so I decided to do an indoor garden. Long story short, I discovered AeroGarden and got hooked. I have several now. They are amazing. Pretty pricey, though. Then I found out about the Kratky method on YouTube. There are so many good videos, but the best teachers in my opinion are Khang Starr and Tikki O if you are new to hydroponics. They do outside gardening, as well. The Provident Prepper is equally as good, but I just recently discovered her channel and haven't seen as many of her videos.

I have grown herbs, Tiny Tim tomatoes, jalapeño peppers, and lettuce in my AeroGardens. I've grown cilantro, mint, and am currently growing a huge Chinese cabbage using the Kratky method. I just started some bok choy and more lettuce seeds to "Kratky." My cilantro and mint grew like crazy in a window that doesn't get a ton of light. I'm using a cheap grow light on the big cabbage because it's been dark and rainy all week.

I'll post a few pictures later tonight or tomorrow.

So I've been thinking about all of this. The barn is being renovated and needs more projects that are geared for prepping. So I'm going to give hydroponics a second try.

I grew tomatoes a few years back successfully with the totes. The practice has advanced as your Kratky method reveals and a second attempt should be ventured.

The barn insulation project is finishing up. One problem is left, the steeple with all the vents is 28 feet up. I have a 24 foot ladder. I can't seal off the vents and am losing all the warm air below up and out the vents. The pitch to the roof is too steep so climbing up to the steeple on the outside is impossible.

If anyone here sees a solution I'm all ears.

So for now extra bedding and a space heater does the trick.

The tac room looks like a good start with insulating by using the mylar/bubble wrap Reflectix to prepare for the hydroponic room.

In three days when the CME hits. Take note to a few things.

Volcanic activity will increase. La Palma, Italy, Chile, MX and So CA heads up the ground heat will increase. Weather systems will be charged up and go extreme. So whatever is being forecasted today will be amplified in 3-4 days.

MX is looking at a cat 3 hurricane on the 13th, west coast.

Let alone whatever pow3r issues are sent our way. Lots of communication issues already, they too will be amplified.

Did I mention earthquakes? The whole west coast of the America's are looking at trouble. Especially around the area of the expected hurricane in MX.

Not only reflectix but mylar sheeting, shiney side of tarp, white paint will work to reflect light in so the warmth is enhanced. A must for growing plants indoors.
