Considering you’ve had 30 abusive posts in a few days, not you!

define "abusive"... and consider what the mental health may be of much of those that marked those posts as such - including leftards ACs.

For instance if I had commented crop circles are BS in some thread about them and you saw that, wonder if you'd mark it as "abusive".

In another example, most of bad karma I've gotten in past 2 weeks were praising in others' threads about AC ban. Many ACs ended up registering because of the ban and started to report "abusive" whoever posted praising the ban.

I've joined GLP on Sep 2015, almost daily reader and almost weekly commenter, and have mere 16 karma points so far. This means something huh? karma still positive after 6 years in a row. Where there are 'so much' "abusive" posts in this picture?

My current score is Total: 57 thumbs up (37 User Votes + 12 Threads Pinned + 8 Thread Reports) and 41 thumds down so, not that bad, I guess is average to registered active users.

They are reviewed by moderators and compared to site guidelines. It’s not users doling out strikes.

this is how 1st page looks like to me by now, the list has
helped me to process less text stuff, probably stuff I'1d not have interest (despite the 4, 5 stars - point is the probable subject brought by the OP or of that thread in specific)

It's the opposite. Ignored posters are not "banned" posters. It just happens that their threads' titles don't show in front/2nd page so I can focus easier on new people (and sometimes just to add them to the list lol) & new stuff. And after I do the first "fast run" along the first pages (sometimes 2nd too), if time permits I go back and check those ignored but voted 4-5 stars (and sometimes it has led me to remove OP from the list - it's an always ongoing maintenance process). Again, it's just a matter of visual processing, organizing my daily visits, that works fine to me. And I thought might work fine too for others, that's why I decided to also share this view of mine through this thread... because the original goal of this thread was that was being more easy to ignore "ex"-ACs since many had to register after the ban and continued with their usual BS, low rated threads.

this is another example of criteria: although he/she joined 3 years ago, is an almost-DAILY machine gun of BS threads and matters I'm not interested in ("misaligned") in GLP, and ignoring has helped me visually streamline the 1st/2nd pages ... As I said, GLP to me is not fecesbulk nor iG

 Quoting: zebreed

this is an example of misaligned with conspiracy / really interesting ("strange"/"estraordinary" - like UFO events or big archeologic uncoverings for instance) stuff aim of sites like GLP: people that post TWELVE threads in a day about "interesting" subjects but as you check them it denotes (to me) mere MSM repetition and attention whoring:
[link to www.godlikeproductions.com]

look at March 30 TWELVE threads and subjetcs, nothing on something 'new', MSM news, obvious stuff...

this is another, joined today, 4 unusefull threads, attention whore [link to www.godlikeproductions.com]
and I guess was an AC that has plagued here from time to time and was forced to register. Same seems [link to www.godlikeproductions.com] (3, 4 threads a day) since join 3 days ago). Ignoring these kind of OPers help me keep 1st pages visually cleaner.

Re: Why AC ban is a need
Problem with ACs ban coming and going is that need to re-do lots of ignorings, as several blue names created during AC bans are not used by their ACs when they get a new ban - seems they just register another blue name instead of using the previous.

Yeah, there are some "starred" users in my list. This by any means mean I consider ALL of them click-baiters or attention whores. Although there are some in my point of view, most are not. It's just that their threads' subjects USE to not be of my interest (for instance politital rants, or "questions" anyone who search the web can find a good answer, for instance).

Btw, 2 new considerations:

1. reviewing today the comments in this thread I want to say that the Ignore list is a PERSONAL site feature. It CAN'T "censor" or "shut up" anyone - as someone "accused" me from (I wonder in this case if that person thought I was a "moderator" and wth could've lead him to think that but a full incomprehension of using the online world ).

It's just a simple / fast way to ANYONE make the 1st/2nd page fit better to HIS/HER preference of matters or OPs.
I've just tried to present the feature to other registered members that might not know of it, and ideas on how to use it, with example of my, personal, criteria. Anyone is (obviously) free to choose it or not.

2. the point used to raise against ACs' bans, that without them is hard to get breaking important news: I think it's a flawed hipothesis, there's no correlation between the 2 variables. Good evidence imho are these threads, all from registered users:

on the other hand, and to illustrate the ideia: do you like visually poluting of your 1st page from threads like this Thread: Dick holes in underwear, are they really useful? from such an attention whore, BS scumbag?..
or from this other one (clearly an AC who registered after the ban - imagine the load of crap he have been posting before): [link to www.godlikeproductions.com]
