When i was in Boston we used to wait for the Cannon to be fired on the USS constitution to be fired to begin raising colors in am and lower colors in pm!!! too cool when in uniform and crossing the brow/gangplank you salute everytime you cross going on or off. In home port we used to go to the paint shed 100 times a day and saluted every time.. The flag is always folded from the red to the blue, when folded correctly you should see no red. Dont want to see the blood of those who died in battle but see the freedoms the fought and died for. made me proud to see him fold the flag and salute, he did it by himself and that isnt easy. we always folded in pairs.. technically sinc the flag touched the ground it should be retired nd ceremony before burning.
