Working on the medical field, it is indeed a safety syringe. There are different kinds with different methods of the needle retracting. It appears in the original video it is the spring loaded type. If you look carefully you can't see the spring in the top before the needle. Now if you are not familiar with them, I can understand the confusion of how they work, and the different types. The one in the video does not have the black retractable plunger, it is spring loaded. When you push the plunger all the way down, the needle retracts into the syringe. It happens very quickly, but I can assure you there is a needle in the original video.

One can't see the entire needed retract into the syringe because the video is so bad. BUT, if one looks very carefully at the very tip of the syringe, where the plastic tapers, THAT PART of the video is quite clear and one can easily see thy shiny needle inside, and then disappear at the exact moment the syringe tips down.

The needle was retracted. That is the most LOGICAL explanation. I get that logic isn't appreciated on this site. I still intend to keep using it.
