“The axe theory” of Russia’s generals
“The axe theory” of Russia’s generals stands opposed to the West’s theory of gradual escalation to a nuclear conflict. As a former Soviet military officer, Suvorov tells us that the West’s escalation theory is dangerous, and he explains why.

According to Suvorov, “By using his most deadly weapon at the beginning of the fight, your enemy saves his strength.” A face-off between nuclear powers, said Suvorov, is like a gunfight in the Old West. Why slap a gunslinger in the face when he might just shoot you with his gun? Do you really think he would escalate by throwing a custard pie at you? What if you pulled your gun and shot him? Why should he give you that chance? “Of course,” wrote Suvorov, “he won’t wait for you when it comes to saving his own life. He will shoot first.” But the generals and politicians of the West do not believe in “the axe theory.” They do not believe the Russians and Chinese intend to use their most terrible weapons first.

The generals and politicians of the West believe in a theory of gradual escalation to nuclear war. “Clearly,” wrote Suvorov, “the theory [of gradual escalation] is too fatally dangerous to serve as a basis for secret military planning.”

If the Russians and Chinese appear to be preparing for war, respectively, against Ukraine and Taiwan, it is axiomatic that they are preparing to attack something much more substantial.

Sun Tzu:

All warfare is based on deception. Hence, when able to attack, we must seem unable; when using our forces, we must seem inactive; when we are near, we must make the enemy believe that we are away; when far away, we must make him believe we are near. Hold out baits to entice the enemy. Feign disorder and crush him.

That's actually an interesting concept and makes sense, unfortunately.

Yes. e.g. The Russian "Attack of the Dead Men", Japanese Kamikaze pilots, Viet Cong suicide missions, the Assassins' cult, Suicide bombers.

Russia has activated their "Perimeter Defense AI" system. It was real back in the 60s when it was referred to in the movie "Doctor Strangelove". Of course, it is much more sophisticated now.

Putin said publicly that if the AI makes the decision to launch, it will be in self-defense. Therefore, the dead Russians will go to heaven as martyrs and the dead Brits, EUROs and Yankees will go to hell as aggressors.

Putin also said that a world without Russia is not worthy of existing.

Martyrdom is part of the culture of Orthodox Christianity and Shia Islam.

Re: “The axe theory” of Russia’s generals
The old theory of "gradual escalation" used to be used by the old Soviet Union as well.

Why? Because their leaders lived through the horrors of WWII, and didn't want to go through that again.

They never really had any interest in war. Both sides were playing poker, and just bluffing.

But those leaders are all dead and gone now. Current Russian and Chinese leaders have never experienced the horrors of war, especially on their home soil.

Weapons have changed as well. No longer do they have only long-range missiles with nuclear tips that destroy everything within a 100-mile radius. Now they have suitcase and small tactical nuclear devices that can pinpoint specific areas.

Thus why the Russians and Chinese are know talking about first strikes.

They also know the West is basically neutered as well. Especially since they've planted their own socialist and communist agents in government (or bribed them). Think Biden. And Cameltoe. And the Clintons. And "The Squad". etc etc.

Chechnya, Dagestan? Russian children born in the 80s, fought in Chechnya and Dagestan, on their own soil. Ramzan Khadyrov, the President of Chechnya, replaced his father who was murdered by American backed al-Qaeda terrorists.

I'm talking about the leaders in Moscow personally experiencing it and suffering through it. As almost all of Russia did in their war against the Germans.

The real theory of all-out nuclear war is total extinction. If we survive until all nuclear weapons are destroyed, there is a chance for continued life on this planet. In the meantime there is no theory that is safe or safer.
