A fellow of the American Association for Cancer Research, Baselga died of Creutzfeldt-Jacob Disease, a rapidly progressive neurodegenerative disorder, according to a Spanish news report. He was 61.

I worked in the pathology dept at a local hospital for years and we refused to do autopsies on these patients. It is way too easily transmissible. Pathologists (not where I worked) had been catching it just by doing autopsies, and that is presumably with proper PPE.
Goodbye, halcyon days...

 There is a theory which states that if ever anyone discovers exactly what the Universe is for and why it is here, it will instantly disappear and be replaced by something even more bizarre and inexplicable.
