Also, this non-peer reviewed paper is not from Stanford. The author, Baruch Vainshelboim, is an exercise physiologist in Israel. Quoting: Anonymous Coward 77832340 [link to www.researchgate.net (secure)] Anybody want to try to find Baruch Vainshelboim in the Stanford faculty directory? [link to stanford.rimeto.io (secure)] Darn it. He's not listed there. Controlling any country with unsound policies, is the way of degenerates and their nefarious corporate interests. Sure, but this guy isn't even at Stanford. That's a lie. Stanford had nothing to do with this BS. |

Quoting: Anonymous Coward 77768661 Executive Summary: The peer-reviewed scientific evidence for the protective effect of face mask and respiratory virus infection in healthcare and community settings is overwhelming. The following studies, all published in 2020, focus on the usefulness of wearing facemasks during the COVID-19 pandemic. Nearly all these studies conclude that, outside of the healthcare setting, wearing a face mask reduces one’s risk of being exposed to SARS CoV2 virus, and transmitting the virus to others, if infected. Controlled experiments similarly showed that mask wearing reduced the amount of exposure to virus particles. Importantly, countries, states and jurisdictions that imposed mask wearing mandates and encouraged adherence were generally associated with lower disease transmission and overall decreases in disease trends. Despite political controversies surrounding mask wearing, the published scientific evidence strongly supports mask wearing, coupled with hand hygiene and social distancing to reduce the risk of COVID-19 transmission in the community. [link to covid19.ncdhhs.gov (secure)] No science anywhere in that. Assumptions, surveys, reviews discussions, but not an ounce of real science. It's peer reviewed and published in one of the most respected medical journals. If you would prefer to believe some quack who lies about being at Stanford and his data lacking pseudoscience, go right ahead if it fits your narrative. |

Quoting: Anonymous Coward 38487486 Thousands of people have worn them all day for years with no issues?? i.e. health workers, construction, etc . . In construction you're not wearing a mask all the time. You Only wear masks when needed in construction. As for healthcare workers, they didn't wear masks all the dang time before Covid. I've gotten pleuresy and tooth issues all of a sudden and this never happened to me before I was forced to work Construction in a mask for 12 hours per day. Worked for about 7 months before it all started hitting me and worked another 4 after that. Took a month off and just went back. So far just having to do 8s, so, so far so good I guess. That article a previous member posted from a gov site spells it all out and it's scary as hell reading it. Here it is again in case you are interested. [link to www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov (secure)] |
