Enough is Enough

I have completely dedicated my life to others. I spent 13 years in the Army. After my separation from the army I became a firefighter. I truly enjoyed helping others. Me being a firefighter came to an end yesterday. Wanna know why? Because I told someone on Facebook that I’m not racist . Someone had posted a racebait video and I simply commented that I didn’t feel that the video was racist. Then someone told me I was a racist, I simply replied I’m not a racist. Well they contacted my fire station and told them I was a racist .

So I get called in and the board of directors are there. They agreed I never said anything racist, negative, or anything that would be an attack. So logically I ask them what the issue was. I was informed it was a “image” they have to uphold. I said so basically I’m being let go because someone was upset and called me a racist even though I never said anything racist.

I feel like this has gone on long enough. I truly wasn’t a racist before I lost my job . But losing a job because I disagreed with a person of color had me angry, Very angry. Why are Police, First responders, firefighters being treated as the enemy . I will not apologize for being white, I will not apologize for what happen 300 years ago, my ancestors were not slave owners. I’m so sick of this and I feel like it’s time we stop bowing down to these savages
