Re: Need help with a dying cat
I had this grey & white cat show up at my door about a month ago. I feed him but he is skin and bones and not gaining weight. I got him some wet food and he really likes it, but still not gaining weight.

I think someone dumped him because he never leaves my porch and waits for me every morning in the windowsill.

Anyway, I took him to the vet a couple days ago to get blood work done and a Snap test and they said he had a very strong positive to Feline Immunodeficiency Virus and Feline Leukemia Virus. They said he is neutered and approximately 12 years old. They wanted to euthanize him but I said no and took him home.

Is there anything I can do to help him be comfortable and live longer? He doesn't seem to be in any pain but he is somewhat lethargic.

hmm, its sad, my old cat died naturally of the same thing. We would give him some whiskey in milk.

Well it's time to go pet him before dark. I never know when our last night will be. I am sure that when it is time he will walk off into the woods.

Re: Need help with a dying cat
One of my cats has an overactive thyroid. Blood work confirmed that after he lost a pound a year for four or five years in a row.

Now it's a balancing act between thyroid meds and good kidney numbers.

He's around 15, so his time is near, but it is hard for me to let go.

He's energetic and hungry on a normal cycle, so its not time now, but I dread the soon part.

You are an idiot. If you want to know if either a dog or cat is in pain do full on shiatsu combined with reiki with it and you can find the pain spots. Oh, but you never trained in that and get your 3.50 from PETA. Useless wankers.

I have used activated Chlorine Dioxide or MMS to great result with sick felines especially lethargic sick uneating felines. Worth a shot and pretty cheap you just put a drop of activated ina dropper full of water and put in its mouth once maybe twice a day. good luck I love cats I have two myself.

this is feline leukemia and aids. it's not something you recover from.

fine if he is behaving ok now. and their eyes are not pink yet.

But as soon as they are. you need to do the right thing.

eventually cuts and scrapes will not heal and they will become cancerous.

this is first hand experience. i buried him a few years ago.

listen, you misrepresented the situation.

he's not dying yet.

he might be unwell, but like i said from the beginning, his eye will turn pink and the cuts will turn cancerous and he will rot while being alive.

they don't die from this until their body completely breaks down and stop functioning.

it's not something they just drop dead from, in fact it's exactly the opposite. it's a long painful drawn out death.

if he is not showing any symptoms that's fine. but you've a responsibility to keep him away from other cats. or else you're going to kill a lot more of them. it's easily transmitted during mating and fighting.

I suggest toxic anaemia, caused by stressors and environmentals not limited to, but including warfarin. I would suggest prednisolone, vit k, doxycycline or, a good few doses of fenbendazole.
keep the cat inside and warm if possible
prednisolone will excite appetite and act as a stimulant for red blood cells which are replaced each 65 days
best of luck

had a cat with the same. its a long horrible drawn out death, which ended up in euthanasia. cuts don't heal and get permanently infected and does not respond to any treatment.

put the cat down. it's not happy being alive.

If you can feel its backbone. It is seriously in trouble. It will not put on any weight. That is a sign things are coming to an end for a cat. The other thing, you say it is an outside cat. If any cat is near, scratched, eats the same bowl both diseases can be passed to other cats. you should at least bring it in. I would maybe wait if I really saw that it was not in pain. Outdoors it probably cannot defend itself. give it a spot, but do the right thing at the right time. I had my 18 year old cat buddy pass this Jan, I was there till the end. He went from me to my wife in an instant. Jus some thoughts

You really should bring him in like the other poster said--if you don't have other cats. Those diseases are highly contagious. If you have an enclosed patio or back porch that would be best.

My heart goes out to you, I really have no words...

Sincerely hoping what you are doing helps the cat recover.

I suggest to give the cat a name.

Saying prayers for you and your cat.

Coconut oil, virgin organic unrefined, organic butter,

Colloidal silver, chlorella powder, olive oil, virgin cold pressed organic walmart carries that, let the cat lick this good oil as much as he wants, (it is not good to eat tuna, mercury...) some low-salt sardines in water, or kippurs, any frozen whiting, they go ape over, raw, cut it up tiny slivers though, so he wont have to hurt his gums chewing it, if he is old they usually have some sore gums...also, they LOVE the skin the best

Give him organic red meat, venison or beef

Maybe some food grade charcoal powder it absorbs toxins and infections, inside and out, viruses, and may could help with the C

Also Essiac 4 herb tea, make it for him, let him drink, but do you have well water? The fluoride water is cancer causing in itself, not good for them to drink. Otherwise spring water like deer park, no Dasani or Dannon and also NO walmart "drinking water" they all fluoridate them. Speaking of city water, the prions and viruses are in the water supply. They can't remove all of them.

I def would not bring him to vet any more since they have no snswers and it scares him so much it hastens the csncer groeth from stress, just give him a lot of love, calm presence, cuddling, snd grooming, soft voice talking and pray for him always saying YAHUWAHS NAME OUT LOUD, and SAY YAHUSHUWAH the name of the messiah when you end praying, asking in that name, when you pray to the father, YAHUWAH. The cats like to hear this and they respond miraculously, my daughter and i did this years ago when one was dying for no known reason and we did this and the respinse was dramatic and miraculous.

You have to pet the cat softly, ever so gently while ypu say this, use a low comforting clear voice, even singing in a melodious slow tune from the heart, as you go, in a praying song, which you feel is suitable for healing in the sacred name of the cat's Creators, is very very strong miraculous healing.

You are a really good human being. This cat loves your spirit. It is an honour to be chosen by a dying anumal who trusts ypu to be kind like you are. May ALMIGHTY IAUE HELP YOU BOTH.

Ask the vet if he has hyper thyroid issue.

Just because he has fiv doesnt mean he shouldnt gain weight.

If he has hyper thyroid you can fix that by giving him droplets in his wet food.

There is a hyper thyroid droplet on amazon that ive been using for 2 years now. It extended the life of my cat.

If he doesnt have hyoer thyroid, he might have kidney issues thats preventing hin from gaining weight, but theres a dropplet for that too.

Those are 2 things i can think of that might cause him to not gain weight.
