1/2 #LaPalma | I couldn't resist animating the image you posted @Maxar October 14. The truth is that with a little movement these oblique images and #VHR they look spectacular |#EO

Re: La Palma Highlights
This was posted an hour ago. It's a different angle than all of the other cameras.

It shows a vent behind the main cone.

Apologies if it has already been posted.

So.

Usgs…

Wtf is up with them not reporting la Palma quakes - we’ve seen 4.5 now… couple times at least…

The typical cutoff of worldwide significant quakes is 4.0…

Re: La Palma Highlights
lol.. this guy says went instead of vent lol.. Local on La Palma.

Volcano pumps through new vent to the front of volcano. 17.10.21

Volcano is changing its behaviour many times during the day. Last night we saw the new (I am not sure if its new) vent becoming hyper active. Lava started spilling over from it. It lasted so maybe for 2 hours before the "new" vent´s hyper activity ceased. October 17, as seen from Tajuya, El Paso municipality.

Just found your thread, Jedi! I hope you don't mind
my posting this from "BPEarthwatch" channel. He has this
Oct. 17th update from last night some folks might find
interesting. BP was concerned about a vent collapse and
possible building pressure. (I'm not sure what has happened
with this situation by the time I post this--but at least
it is from the last 24 hours.)

BPEarthwatch explains his concerns about what
causes "pressure build-up" which could trigger a
larger eruption. This was posted the evening of
Oct. 17th.

Watching every day!

Good Morning! hi

Thank you to all for your input on this thread. I've been a busy lady the last few weeks and have not had time to contribute lately but I check here several times a day. You are all much appreciated!

I looked up Super Plumes/Hotspots and found these 7 diagrams which show the earth layers and depths you might find interesting to scroll through:

[link to en.wikipedia.org (secure)]

I think all the quakes in the 35km range indicate pressure and movement of lava and gas trying to come through that layer.

“Save the podencos from the La Palma Volcano”
October 18, 2021 in La Provincia
[imgur] [link to imgur.com (secure)]

Since Leales.org raised the alarm for the presence of three isolated podencos in some ponds of Todoque, the buzz on social networks has been incessant. Aerocamaras, a Pontevedra drone company, will try to successfully complete this rescue in the next few hours.

The three hounds that are isolated in the ponds of Todoque (Los Llanos de Aridane) continue to have a high share of prominence on social networks. And it is that the announcement that Leales.org made a week ago is unleashing an avalanche of solidarity to accelerate a rescue device that in the last hours has led to the arrival in Tenerife of the team that will try to remove the animals from the point in the that have been around for more than three weeks.

Re: La Palma Highlights
Landslides are such a force of Nature. I can’t imagine trying to do SAR in the aftermath of an event like that. Like looking for a needle (or parts of that needle) in a haystack and such low survivability. I’m sure there are miraculous exceptions, but you’re basically looking at a very unsuccessful body recovery mission. Talk about depressing.
