I work for a very large company. We were informed last week that if we aren't vaccinated ( 25% of the company isn't ), that we'll need to pay an additional money per pay pay period to cover "extra covid costs" next year. This thing is a sham, this is going to go on forever if we don't stand and fight.

It's all a bunch of garbage. Our VP of human resources is parroting the same garbage nonsense as all of the government.

If I had another job lined up I'd quit in front of the entire company during open enrollment when they are going to explain it all.

I'm a remote programmer. I haven't been into the office since like 2015. I never take a sick day off but if this passes and I can't quit then I'm gonna take one additional day off per month ( our company gives unlimited days off at a certain level ) to account for the differences in pay.

Refuse the vaccination. The government (this is a federal mandate for companies over 100 people). The Federal mandate requires the company to provide covid testing to employees. If they fire you for refusing the vaccine, hopefully you have documented that they are requiring you to get a vaccine or illegally charge you for working without providing weekly testing, at some point....the Federal Mandate will be declared Unconstitutional and a business requiring its employees to get a vaccine when they are healthy from natural immunity, will in the near future...become an opportunity to sue your employer for NOT providing weekly testing.

This worked for me and got the company (international, very well known) to change their policy.

I plan on fighting it. I have a decent amount of savings and will take this to the courts if I have to. I've already been talking with attorneys and have some arrows in my quiver if it comes to that.

Currently, there is no FDA approved covid vaccine available in the United States.

consider yourself lucky that you can pay a premium. I wouldn't care to pay the premium. I'm losing a full job instead. Ain't easy being close to 50 and unemployed.

Sorry, got ahead of myself.

Comirnaty is the FDA approved injection. It won't be available for a year in the US. What if you didn't outright refuse but invited them to direct you to a doctor who carries the Comirnaty?
Thread: Is the VAXX APPROVED or NOT approved?

It is illegal to require an experimental treatment and the recipient must be given informed consent which can't happen because nobody knows what is in these.

Dr. Flemming explains why requiring an experimental vaccine is illegal. Skip to about 51:00 if you want to miss all the medical and get to the legalities.

Not sure if it will help you in your current situation but if they do end up firing you, you'll have recourse.

I'm sorry to hear that. I'm about the same age and have thought the same things.
I've been looking for other jobs but nothing in my area and my wife takes care of her elderly parents so relocating is not possible right now.

I'd love to find another remote programming position but so far everyone wants you on-site and I'm sure that the mandates will come to a lot more places before this insanity ends.

I have kids to take care of so the passive aggressive in me wants to say "eff it" and just take the additional day off to make up for the money they're stealing from me. I'm going to try and get the religious exemption first but if that doesn't work then ill persue the legal routes and just bide my time while i can.

OLDIE but GOODIE: First published at 15:49 UTC on December 28th, 2020.

Your body is a temple and only YOU have the right to decide what goes into it. Death via cytokine storm (an exaggerated immune response) following the second shot is how most folks will die from these COVID vaccines. This is GENOCIDE and the deaths will be blamed on a "mutated strain" of COVID-19 instead of the fatal injections. More vaccines will then be mandated.
