Just a tidbit about NE China
Northeastern China recently went through a major 'lockdown' even though there were only like 12 cases.

Entire major cities clamped shut.

Doctors from all over China traveled there to help with the 'outbreak'.

Just a little fact that most people probably are unaware of.

For only 12 cases? Kinda makes you go hum.....!

Sounds more like an outbreak of hemorrhagic fever or something a little more serious than Coof!

Oh some context. I have been running a little bet that NK is the next hot zone since early September.

The actual question is could China afford the PR damage.

All Taiwan has to do is bloody them good, and China will have problems holding its own territory. I think this is something most people don't picture correctly.

There are a lot of party members who are pissed with the number of 'punishments' that have been handed out recently.

Add to that, these actions still smell like a bluff.

Earlier on I bet on North Korea.

I still feel good about this bet.

China NEEDS coal right now, badly. With the power outages, and winter coming...

North Korea has lots of coal.

Also Chinese people tend to hate North Koreans.

With all that flexing of military power, I just realized I had heard from someone who lives like six hours from the border with NK and they were complaining about being stuck in their apartment.
