As Saturn's "comet" Approaches, it's time to remember the Golden Age...and it's sky.
"Saturnalia was always a December festival. It was a week-long carnival atmosphere that permeated all castes of Roman society. Schools and work were closed, there was no war or trials, slaves were given a break, and there was festive eating and drinking throughout the entire household. All of this was both a celebration and a remembrance of that first age of mankind, The Golden Age.

For we Christians, the First Age is recorded historically in Scriptures. It was a time when men lived long lives, the world was innocent and more pure, and God, it seemed, was closer to us than in the following eras. Giants and men of renown lived in those days, and it was a time of great possibilities—and probably natural wonders that we will never fully realize.

The Greeks and Romans also retained a cultural memory of The Golden Age. Hesiod recalls it as a time when men lived like gods, free from toil and grief, an age when the ground more easily produced fruit. Virgil notes how it was a time of Saturn’s reign, that fields 'knew no taming hand of husbandmen to mark the plain or mete with boundary-line,' and that it was a time of freedom and bounty. And Ovid talks about how it was a time when mankind was simple, sincere, and unoppressive.

This primordial era is lost history to us. The Great Flood divides us from that period—a time in which it is said by the ancient Greeks that Prometheus came down to the Earth to give men fire and teach him the arts of civilization. The Greeks and the Romans remember The Golden Age of Saturn fondly, doing their best to re-capture this magical era in their December festival. But it wasn’t a party that would last. At some point, it all had to end. Men obviously grew wicked, as Genesis tells us. And so, of course, God flooded the world.

Would the men of that day have known what God was about to do to them? Was there any kind of warning or omen? Or, did Our Father in Heaven simply shoulder the burden of responsibility on Noah to tell all of the people in the world what was about to happen?

The Book of Enoch—which is purportedly source material from that period, is quoted in the Book of Jude, and is even quoted by Christ—states that, yes, there were indeed such warnings to people for what was about to befall them:

"And in the days of the sinners the years shall be shortened, and their seed shall be tardy on their lands and fields, and all things on the earth shall alter, and shall not appear in their time: and the rain shall be kept back, and the heaven shall withhold (it).

And in those times the fruits of the earth shall be backward, and shall not grow in their time, and the fruits of the trees shall be withheld in their time. And the moon shall alter her order, and not appear at her time.

And in those days the sun shall be seen and he shall journey in the evening on the extremity of the great chariot in the west, and shall shine more brightly than accords with the order of light.

And many chiefs of the stars shall transgress the order (prescribed). And these shall alter their orbits and tasks, and not appear at the seasons prescribed to them. And the whole order of the stars shall be concealed from the sinners, and the thoughts of those on the earth shall err concerning them, and they shall be altered from all their ways, yea, they shall err and take them to be gods.

And evil shall be multiplied upon them, and punishment shall come upon them So as to destroy all."
– Chapter 80 of The Book of Enoch

So, what we have here is a forecast of the sun taking odd positions in the sky, that the moon 'alters her order,' and that the chiefs of the stars would transgress their order. Consider the idea that these chiefs of the stars are the planets—the planets, which in the New Testament are referred to as the wandering stars. When we consider all of this, we can conclude that the sky looked drastically different from what it typically does in our modern day.

This spectacle would be so frightening, that great emphasis was placed in preceding chapters about the proper course of the sun, moon, and stars, as Enoch was being taught by an angel about 'the law of all the stars of the heaven.' Getting a grip on what the sky was supposed to do was very important at that moment in Antediluvian history, as the Book of Enoch demonstrates. It was crucial to know exactly what we moderns take for granted: where the sun, moon, planets and stars rise and set. Why was this important? Because God Almighty was about to do something strange with the sky, and if not told otherwise, men might think this was normal.

This importance on the paths of the stars, the rising and the setting of the sun, as well as the equinoxes—all of this was crucial in the ancient world. It wasn’t just Enoch was was coming to grips with astronomy. This concern was worldwide, from the people of ancient Egypt, to the builders of Stonehenge, to Machu Picchu in Peru. Ancient man was freaking out on a global scale. Something went wrong in the sky. But what?

Enter the Electric Universe Theory.

It is said by some that our entire understanding of cosmology is flawed and skewed in order to provide convenience for our modern biases. But one relatively new challenge to our current understanding of the cosmos, is a challenge to the Theory of Gravitation itself. This challenge comes in the form of the Electric Universe theory. Basically, it goes like this: there appears to be a pervasive role of electromagnetic force in nature. Although modern science has uncovered incredible facts, our knowledge and understanding are still incomplete, and it’s possible we’ve gotten a few things wrong. Namely? The accretion disk theory of our solar system.

For decades in our schools, we have been taught that the planets have always been in their orbits. They were formed from the dust and accretion of rock and matter in our young, embryonic solar system. But what if this were wrong? What if there was a time when the planets came closer together? Imagine two planets next to each other, and the charge of one world’s electrons is excited and compelled in such a way as to cause it to blast an enormous charge of plasma lightning at another world, burning domed craters and valleys into the other planet. Imagine the spectacle that would ensue in the vacuum of space. This is just one of the many ideas put forth by The Thunderbolt Project.

Many proponents of the Electric Universe model theorize that there was an amazing interplay between the planets in our solar system, and there was an extraordinary spectacle in our sky. How extraordinary? The short version is this: Saturn was very clear and visible in our sky at some point, taking up a lot of space on the horizon. In front of Saturn was the planet Venus. And in front of Venus was the planet Mars. Between the planet Saturn and Venus were vast streams of electric plasma. Each planet overlapped the other, and with the plasma streams going from one planet to the other, the vision of the overlapping planets looked like a great chariot wheel in the sky.

If such a thing were to have happened in our skies, surely there would have been a record of it kept somewhere, right? The answer is 'yes.' Around the world are petroglyphs, drawings, and depictions of something strange happening in the skies. Pictures of wheels in the sky, accompanied with legends of gods in chariots. Archaeological evidence from across the globe will attest to the belief in a chariot wheel in the sky. The sun does not look like a chariot wheel. In fact, you cannot even look directly at the sun without blinding yourself. But if this planetary conjunction truly happened…that would be something notable enough to record on stone.

Furthermore, if it were true that the planets served a grander purpose for mankind before the Flood, then it is highly likely that yes, indeed, men would likely start calling those planets gods. So let’s return to something said in Enoch:

"And the whole order of the stars shall be concealed from the sinners, and the thoughts of those on the earth shall err concerning them, and they shall be altered from all their ways, yea, they shall err and take them to be gods..."

So…did Antediluvian men deify the planets as they altered their courses in the sky, coming up to the Earth in a frightful manner and putting on a daily show for the ancient world to see? After all, Enoch was informed that his people would 'take them to be gods.' And let’s not forget that it was the ancient Greeks who named those planets. For us moderns, it is quite easy to see why Jupiter and Saturn would be named as kings of the gods; because thanks to our spaceships and robots, we have been able to fly out to these worlds and take pictures. We clearly see that they are vast in size, many times bigger than our own world. How, then, would the ancients know about them if these planets were mere points of light in their far away orbits?..." And now Saturn's comet approaches:

"...as the bored world goes mad whilst creating its own catastrophes—out there in the void, something primordial approaches. A Thing from ancient times has left the dusty, cold spaceways to come into our skies and make itself known. The astronomers of our day are calling it a comet, though it was once regarded as one of the cold outer worlds. Measuring at least 60 miles in width, this beast will enter the orbit of mighty Saturn, right around the ten year anniversary that a pagan idol was adored atop the bones of St. Peter.

God knows that we can watch such things in this day and age. He has always known we’d have the tools to see such faraway wonders. It is no accident that such a thing as this primeval comet has made its appearance at a time like this. And so, what can we think of this visitor? Well, for one, as the world sweeps itself up in all things novel and modern, we will be reminded that we are bound to ancient laws. We are being told once more that what was true in the beginning is still true now—until the end of the world...the truth of the matter is that there is nothing new under the sun, and the horror of these times was just as fresh and real as they were before God first chastised the world with water.

This ancient world from beyond the rim, this 'comet', comes to the outer worlds of our solar system , wandering near Saturn—the elder god of the spheres, and a titan of forgotten Antediluvian days. It is a sign. Primeval things we thought we could throw into the dustbin of history are once again made manifest by old Planet Cronos. And if we choose to forget the mistakes of ancient men, then we will be swept away just as surely as those taken by the Flood. Like Cthulhu of the old Lovecraftian stories, we are being reminded once more that ancient terrors await us if we persist in out carelessness...." [link to forge-and-anvil.com (secure)]

Gigantic Comet Approaching From Outer Solar System May Be The Largest Ever Seen

A comet so huge it was initially mistaken for a dwarf planet is on an inward-bound trajectory from the outer Solar System.

There's no reason to worry – C/2014 UN271 (Bernardinelli-Bernstein), as the comet is called, will approach no closer to the Sun than just outside the orbit of Saturn. But its large size and relative closeness will afford a rare opportunity to study a pristine object from the Oort Cloud, and find new information about the formation of the Solar System.

"We have the privilege of having discovered perhaps the largest comet ever seen – or at least larger than any well-studied one – and caught it early enough for people to watch it evolve as it approaches and warms up," co-discoverer and astronomer Gary Bernstein from the University of Pennsylvania said earlier this year.

"It has not visited the Solar System in more than 3 million years."

When it was discovered, the comet was at a distance of around 29 astronomical units from the Sun. Its closest approach to the Sun will occur in 2031, when it will reach a distance of 10.97 astronomical units; Saturn's orbit, for context, has an average distance of 9.5 astronomical units.

Comet Bernardinelli-Bernstein is currently much closer to the Sun. It was first seen by the Dark Energy Survey in 2014 at a distance of 29 AU, and as of June 2021, it was 20 AU from the Sun and currently shines at magnitude 20.

2014 29au from the Sun

2021 20 au from the Sun

So if it was to be no closer than 18au from the Sun in 2031 ?

From what Ive read it was an age of wonder but we were controlled by the "men of renown." Look at Gilgamesh or Nimrod. They did great feats but were ultimately tyrants.

Men seemes to live hundreds of years though. The world was less populated and ripe for the picking. You could have a seaside home or thousands of acres if you wanted or both.

"The Nephilim were on the earth at that time (and even afterwards) when the sons of God resorted to the daughters of man, and had children by them. These are the heroes of days gone by, the famous men..." Genesis 6:4

There was still a protective atmospheric "canopy" surrounding the Earth in those days that altered the physical constants such that nature was "richer" and people lived much longer. After the Deluge, we notice that the lifespans in the Bible become much shorter. It is speculated that at the time of the Deluge, destructive comets/asteroids hit the Earth destroying the "canopy."

Yeah and no rain. Dew came from the ground to water the earth. I imagine all those huge deserts where once fertile plains.

Supposedly Egypt was once a tropical jungle type of area with lots of rain. So this was after the flood. So the earth must of been much cooler i would assume.

So there may have been a mini golden age right after the flood as well. People probobly still live 150 or 200 years then.

"We must not picture to ourselves the earth before the Deluge as it is now. Palestine was by no means so broken up by valleys and ravines. Plains were far more extensive, and single mountains less lofty. The Mount of Olives was at that time only a gentle rising. The Crib Cave of Bethlehem was as later a wild cavern, but the surroundings were different.

The people of those early times were larger, though not out of proportion. We would regard them with astonishment, but not with fright, for they were far more beautiful in form than people of a later period..."

It's not the chief of the stars. It's the chef of the stars.

So if it was to be no closer than 18au from the Sun in 2031 ?
something seems amiss hiding

If such a thing was gonna hit or pass close enough to cause serious problems, I'm sure they'd let us know, to provoke a panic. Mmmmm HMMMMMM.

My late husband was obsessed with the hexagonal storm on Saturn.

He felt some kind of pull from that planet.

the very word planet means wanderer.

So called because they have apparent motion, unlike the "fixed" stars. Originally including also the moon and sun but not the Earth; modern scientific sense of "world that orbits a star" is from 1630s in English. The Greek word is an enlarged form of planes, planetos "who wanders around, wanderer," also "wandering star, planet," in medicine "unstable temperature."
