Possibly. I checked the time lapse space weather of the magnetosphere on NOAA, and there was a noticeable spike from 4pmCT-6pmCT. That may or may not have been the CME.

United sucks moose balls. They screwed me over one too many times and I will go out of my way NOT to fly on them. "Lie, Lie, Lie" must be the name of the first training class they all take.

The last straw for me was gate agent telling me the inbound plane that would by my outbound aircraft had left Newark and would "be here in 15 minutes" when I could tell via several reliable online sources (airport website, flightaware, and united's own app) that it had not left yet. Rather than let me re-route thru another city they broke my connection and cost me an extra night away from my family. Jerks.

I live near an International airport and usually several planes per hour circle over my house as they line up for landing.

Since Saturday, I have seen only two planes.

Based on what some of the tweets are saying they've been told, my guess is that it's preventing flights taking off, but it doesn't affect flights already in the air.

Which does make the thread title misleading, ish, but doesn't mean there's no problem.

Seems only one airline is affected.

If this hits American Airlines by Thursday I'll be stuck in Arizona...have to rent a car and drive back to WA.

Yeah, would be some crazy shit if United aircraft started dropping out of the sky over a ground-based 'glitch' in the matrix.

Once they land, they currently will not be taking off again until this is resolved.
