For the third time, the military recruiters have called my cell phone (we don't have a land line) asking to speak to my son. I have told them he is not interested and not to call again. Tonight the Srgt. Cp. Whoeverthefuck, told me they would keep calling until they spoke with him. That THEY need to see if he meets certain qualifications that THEY are interested in. WHAT THE FUCK? I said, "He is MY son and not 18 and YOU WILL NOT SPEAK TO HIM." She said, "You know what mam....." and then she shut up and told me to have a nice day and hung up.

This pisses me off to no end.

Watch out for what may be going on as Bush just last year modified the conscription to enable them to take men up to the age of 46 and I forget what the womens new draft age was. I think 44. They have also provided the laws necessary to enact and enforce the draft. Only reason they would be doing that is if they intend to use it IMHO. I am former Mil and this is very odd for a recruiter to be so persistent...

He's getting his passport renewed and planning a trip to Europe this summer. If I thought what you are suggesting is true, I would encourage him to stay.

2X, do you have 'Call Blocker' with your phone service ? If not, it's a cheap addition to your phone service. That'll stop the problem , pronto.

When they started this war I received a recall identification # in the mail. I was already past my 8 years out mark and they still contacted me. Recently I received some useless mail from Veterans Affairs It was about 6 months ago. I think they were just confirming that they knwo where I am...

I have a feeling I will see another recall # in the year to come.

How are ya, sweetness? It's not really unusual for them to be so persistent. You know I've got two boys and they've called here til they are blue in the face for quite a few years now. First started calling for the oldest and now they're after the younger one.
When the same recruiter calls (can see it on caller i.d.) repeatedly, I keep telling them that he's not home, he's at work. They finally tire of calling and end up sending something through the mail and I toss it in the garbage.

I know it's aggravating, but I don't know what else you can do. Prepare your son to talk to them at his school. I was outraged and just plain pissed off when I found out that the recruiters go to the school's and talk to the boys without first informing the parents. Let your son know that he is NOT to encourage them in any way and tell him DO NOT fill out any forms with any type of personal information, although our school gave out some of our info. to the recruiters.

A whole year after I had enlisted I got a call while at
home on leave from the Navy. I spoke with the recruiter
for a little while until I finally told him that my USAF
squadron commander might not like me joining the Navy.

It's bad times for recruiters these days, but I feel no
sympathy for them. Too many of them engage in the very
least in lies of omission, and too many just out right
lie.
