It's very unlikely that he filled out to paperwork wrong, and had the wrong visa, because he is no stranger to travelling Down Under.

well that's what happened. he got the paperwork wrong.

he got a medical exemption to PLAY IN THE TENNIS TOURNAMENT from Tennis Australia. they are in charge of tennis tournaments and stuff like that. they are not in charge of Australian border control.

he DID NOT get a medical exemption to ENTER AUSTRALIA. how did he think he was gonna play in the tournament without entering the country?????

Tennis Australia said "shore you can play in our tournament without getting vaccinated Novax!".

it is still Novax's responsibility to fill in the paperwork correctly to enter the country. since he didn't bother meeting his responsibility he got detained by Border Force. if Novax wants to be mad at somebody he might choose Tennis Australia. or he could choose to be mad at whichever arseclown from his "entourage" filled in the paperwork wrong and gave him wrong advice.

Border Force has done their job properly. its not their job to let in some billionaire just because he wants to play tennis.

I understand what you're saying. It's certainly opened up a rabbit hole!

he could of just followed the rules and arranged a private mansion in Melbourne for him to stay in for two weeks quarantine. then he would of been allowed into the country unvaccinated, stay in the quarantine mansion unvaccinated, been able to play tennis unvaccinated, won his four million bucks, and then go back to Serbia unvaccinated.

he didn't do the simple and obvious thing. it's his own fault for not following the rules.

getting a visa to enter Australia is just filling in a web page form then print it out. there is basically no checking done at the web page filling out part. the checks happen by Border Force officers at the border when the immigrant tries to enter the country. it is the responsibility of the immigrant to get their paperwork right before trying to enter the country, and follow the rules of Australia. Novax didn't do that and got busted.

Which poses the question: Why didn't he, or a member of his team do it? It's not as though he has never been to Australia before. I've got a feeling that he will be allowed to play.

i guess he thought the medical exemption to play tennis would get him past the border. wrong thoughts there. they should definitely check the laws before going to other countries. apparently his team has four personal chefs so that he can eat his organic ethical gluten free vegan snacks whenever he wants. who needs four personal chefs??? if he is gonna pay four chefs he should be able to pay for a team lawyer or at least a clerk or administrative officer to make sure the paperwork is correct.

basically he got advice from Tennis Australia. top tip, don't take immigration advice from tennis players!! ask somebody who knows!

maybe there is some minute chance they would let him stay if he did a bunch of tests and doesn't have da covidz. but it is unlikely really. Melbourne has been through years of lockdowns. they won't be happy that a zillionaire foreigner can just ignore the rules to waltz in and play sports ball.

most likely the judge will tell him to leave the country because he got the paperwork wrong. he should of got it right. paperwork is the most important thing in the world. all he had to do was arrange to do two weeks quarantine and he would of been in and playing in the tournament. instead he's got a fiasco and shirley a judge won't bail him out. it happens every day that people get deported for wrong paperwork.

He should've just boycotted Australia from the beginning citing human rights abuses.

That's very true. Wouldn't that have been something?
