Sometimes coating them in either cornstarch or baking soda and then brushing it out helps. They both help soak up oils on the fur and skin.
I've also had some pretty good luck just wiping the fur with normal baby wipes. Good luck!flower

Or...you could take a costco-sized jar of peanut butter and blow it through an industrial fan at the dog until it's worked in real good. Then you can spread a jar of grape jam on the dog until it's dripping on the carpet.

It should only be a few days until it all goes rancid and your dog will look and smell totally different.

Dogs smell bad when they have to poop. Then it goes away.
Feed him some carrots in his diet.

Some car washes here have self service dog washes . It's a small enclosed booth with warm water. Might want to check around, just a few dollars.

We take the dogs in the tub or shower with us to clean them.

Nice warm water, they're not afraid, and we don't have to worry about making a mess.

Just spray him with Axe or Febreeze LOL

Kidding - I wash my dogs once a month with a special, gentle shampoo that doesn't dry their skin out and helps with itching.

If they were outdoor dogs, I'd probably only do it once a year. But they sit on all the furniture and get in the blankets, etc...

You can also use wet wipes on their feet and butthole. I have little dogs with visible buttholes - might be harder to see what you're doing with a German Shephard.

Spray em with a little vinegar water outside and give them a good brushing until you can get them a bath/self wash/grooming
