Russia has already said if the US/NATO/WEST cannot compromise on the main key points such as Ukraine,Georgia etc not going into NATO they will not discuss any other issues. So this is what is happening now. Soltenberg has said that NATO will not give up on key differences time and time again so I do truly believe we are at the point where diplomacy has failed and the only option is war. Hopefully not but they way things are going I can see Russia invading UA anytime between now to end of February.
