Biden's bad phone call with President Zelensky. Biden threatened the President of Ukraine and told him to prepare for impact after President Zelensky told him to calm down and stop hyping the threat, it's bad for his country.

Despite the raging megalomania of previous Presidents, it was JFK who famously used the words, "manifest destiny" which meant that God granted the United States full authority to rule the entire world just because we were so fucking "special." And Rome thought the same thing as a pantheon of Gods protected them when they too spread the golden wings of their eagle as far as humanly possible.

But Rome's greedy expansionism soon overshadowed its inherent good and the resulting corruption brought that mighty empire crashing to it's scarred knees... just as we're seeing happen now in America -some 1600-years later- as internal dissent corrodes reason and erases basic humanity.

Actually going all the way back to the war of 1812, manifest destiny was the concept used to commit wholesale genocide of Native Americans and we've used it as our divine excuse ever fucking since whenever we saw something we wanted, culminating with Truman igniting twin atomic balls of Hell over Japan to prove how invincible we were... and that we still had God's mighty wrath on our side.

Then, just 17 years later, Kennedy uttered those two words before really upping the ante by going after Khrushchev, kicking off the cold war and nearly getting us wiped off the face of the map in a blaze of patriotic glory.

And we've gotten our asses kicked ever since as we drift from one "conflict", "police action" or "Peace-keeping mission" to another and never winning any of them; instead leaving needless carnage and destruction in our wake as we try to create other, weaker nations in our own image. And we still do it today by just creating a new euphemism -and justification- for our arrogance. From Korea to Vietnam to the Middle East and now to Eastern Europe the pattern never changes much.

Only the "spoils of war" and body counts ever do.

But of course: despite the jingoism smeared thickly like a cheap salve over our collective conscience, there was never anything remotely "Godlike" about it.

So, when will we finally learn our lesson? Soon, I think, because that karmic invoice has been accumulating for over 210 years and is already long overdue and payable on demand by those we've "conquered" in the past.

The trouble is, we usually don't end up paying that debt in Gold but rather innocent blood.
