Im gonna guess a couple hundred years ago some pioneer type transplanted a single blackberry bush into a huge ass orchard of the things. The bears love them. So do we. We fill up buckets and buckets. Press them and boil. Add sugar. Ferment in a car boy, rack a few times. Then bottle back sweeten for some carbonation (not for everyone but my wife and friends at church like it that way). Let it age in the basement. blackberries! what's not to love. bears have good taste, ha! i don't understand the car boy and rack stuff, but maybe someday i will be able to do something like that. my Opa made schnapps with fruits steeped in the schnapps. super strong! idk how he did it, wish i did. sounds like you live in a wonderful area, bet it's beautiful there now with the snow! |
