Was positive GPU stock would have improved by now! Good points everyone. What I suspect is that, since there really wasn't much of a VRAM increase from 2000 to 3000 series, the 4000 series will see a large bump up in VRAM, and will be a "Pascal" type generation of cards. Basically, the only way to get a new GPU at this point that is within reason is to buy a preassembled PC from someone like Cyberpowerpc. My current rig is a Ryzen 3800X (tweaked to boost at 4.6ghz on several cores) on an AIO, 16gb RAM (DDR4 3466mhz tuned timings/subtimings), and 500GB SSD/1TB HDD. So it should be good to go for a few more years, bearing I can find a GPU for it! Going from my 2080 down to this old 6gb 1060 was quite the downgrade, lol although it's a very well overclocking EVGA Superoverclocked card, can hit a stable 2130mhz. |

Was positive GPU stock would have improved by now! So I really needed a GPU upgrade back in winter of 2018, as my old 750ti was getting really long in the tooth. Quoting: Truthgiver2244 Bought a brand new RTX 2080 in Nov 2018 for $800. Happily gamed on it for over 2 years. Last Feb, during this crazy GPU shortage, I was offered just shy of $800 for it. I took the offer and sold it, under the premise that I was just going to play on an old GTX 1060 6gb I had for a while, then when GPU stock improved next year, I would use the $800 and upgrade. HUGE MISTAKE!! It's one year later, and not only has the GPU shortage not improved any, it's nearly as worse as last year, and worst yet, the RTX 3000 Super, or even the RTX 4000 series is just around the corner. What a terrible situation for PC gamers. I I wasn't counting on things still being bad when I sold my 2080. Saddest thing is with Biden destroying the economy, prices may never go back to normal. So buy another on one eGay for under $800 and STFU. |

No, I refuse to pay $800 for a GPU (1.) that is supposed to cost $350, (2.) that is less than 8 percent faster than the 3 year old card I sold, which would hardly be an upgrade, (3.) new upgraded gpus like the super and 4000 series are right around the corner. It's a terrible situation for everyone in gaming right now. |

Ha, no way can I go back to 1080p/1440p, even on smaller, high refresh rate monitors, after enjoying the fidelity of 4K and 8K. It adds a depth and realism that is truly amazing. Very taxing though. |

Imagine being childish and pathetic enough to take time to insult someone simply because they are having a conversation about a hobby that millions of successful, grownup adults such as myself partake in. Some of you truly are pathetic. I feel sorry for you and your projections. |

You have little conception of 'resolution', most dont. Resolution should only\mainly be related to your monitor size. At 4K and over all you are doing is pushing through an image size that is just not warranted...except if you have a really huge mnonitor. Thing is you still expect a 4k images at 60fps vs. 1920px. |

Genuine question: why do some gamers need to play video games on a computer? Isnt it more convenient to have a console like a PS5 or Xbox to play games? Or is it because of game choices? Why do gamers choose a computer for gaming over a console? |

If you want the best experience possible, PC is the way to go. Also PC by far has the largest library of games. There are also quite a few exclusives which can only be found on PC. |

Oh ok, I wasnt aware of these reasons. I just always played games on a console and wasnt aware of the benefits of choosing a computer for gaming. Thanks. |

Computer chips are in short supply, as you can be sure countries are taking these products for mass weapons manufacture, as they are readying for something. Its debatable how long its going to be. I would not hold my breath that computer graphics cards will get back to normal any time soon. |
