It is reported that the legendary Canadian sniper "Vali" was killed in Mariupol 20 minutes after the start of active hostilities by the Russian Armed Forces.

"Vali" received combat experience of the war on the Kandahar front in Afghanistan from 2009 to 2011. In 2015, "Vali" helped in the fight against Islamists in Iraq, and also took part in the fighting in Syria.

He arrived in Ukraine on March 9 from Quebec, Canada.

Vali's full name is Olivier Lavigne-Ortiz.
