Fun with Pho
[link to www.allrecipes.com (secure)]

I have to admit that I had no clue what this word was or what it meant...so began my adventure in learning.

Pho is a Vietnamese food dish apparently much loved and very delicious.

I have seen many pictures on the net of various renditions of the dish. It looks like a soup kinda. The stock or broth is to rave about apparently but the name itself is just "FUN".

I was pronouncing it "Po"...phonetically and you might know that is wrong.

Apparently it is pronounced f-uh. Who would think?, right???

Okay so take a leap from that and today I found a website with a nice recipe for the dish. I just couldn't resist posting what I found on the website. It left me in stitches laughing hard.

So below is the clip of that. From that maybe you might be interested in actually making the dish yourself. I know I am. okay here goes:

xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

clip:

If you haven't had pho (pronounced f-uh) before, it's a Vietnamese soup with thin-sliced beef, rice noodles, vegetables, and herbs. The star, though, is the beef broth, which has a slightly sweet edge that is a whole universe of taste unto itself.

clip:

Isn't that just pho-nominal? (Incidentally, "Pho" based puns are their very own cottage industry. Case in point, one of Seattle's most successful pho eateries is called "What the Pho.")

Re: Fun with Pho
that stuff is awesome!

if you never had any..

Start thinking about top-ramen. BUT take it out of the dormitory microwave and let a chef make something like it but MUCH BETTER!

I had one sent to work once and the co workers went EEWWW over the raw beef included.

BUT then they watched me dip the razor thin slices right into the very hot broth and then eat them COOKED when they came back out of the "soup"! 10/10 if made right.

Hardest part is finding the style in smaller markets. Its like Thai, or poke, some towns have it and some towns dont.

Re: Fun with Pho
I cant stress this enough but always add the brown sauce. Add 1 swirl of it and a little bit of that red spicy sauce and it makes the pho taste that much better!
