Now that doesn't mean he's not working Biden's strings, but the 22nd amendment limits any person to two full terms and that's it.

That being said, Obama is surely calling the shots, not Biden.

In all truthfulness the Kenyan should never have been allowed to be President in the first place so breaking the law means NOTHING to these people.

read it more carefully, it is aftually a legal gray area... there is a harvard opinion feom years ago that a president could be SELECTED to fill the empty spot and therefore not run afoul of the 22nd.

If Obama is appointed as the speaker of the house, and Biden and Harris stepped down, he would be POTUS. Same with Hillary. God help us.

As I understand it here's how this all works...

1) a Person can be President for 10years if they were Vice President and replaced the President beyond the midway point of their Presidency. For example... Kennedy was elected in 60 but LBJ took over in 63, ran in 64 but declined to run in 68. Legally he couldve run in 68 and been President for 9 years.

If Kamala were to take over after the inauguration date for the upcoming midterms she could run for President in 2024 and 2028 and conceivably be President for 10 years.

2) The House actually picks the Vice President. Not the President. The President can send a recommendation to the house but the President doesnt pick the replacement VP.

When Kennedy was murdered and LBJ took over in 63 he actually did not have a Vice President until he was re-elected in 1964. Technically speaking in a situation like this the Speaker is 2nd in line to the new President.

In theory Biden could be removed, Kamala could end up President, and there would be no Vice President the remainder of her term.

I had originally believed Biden would not be replaced until after midterms so the Dems could theoretically hold the WH for 10more years with Kamala. However it seems obvious at this point neither will be the nominee in 2024 so my thinking now is they want Biden out before Midterms so the Dem lead house can select the VP of their choosing.

The Dems will not pick Obama to be VP because they can just as easily pick his wife and not have to deal with all the controversy surrounding picking an ex-President.

3) The possibilities are endless once the Dems take this path...

-If they elect a new VP before midterms they get their person in place but still have to deal with Kamala being President the next 3years.

-If the elect a new VP before midterms but then oust Kamala after midterms the new President has to deal with the Republican pick at VP - this is why I don't think the dems will push Kamala out. In this situation the GOP could theoretically make Trump VP or whoever they decided on.

This would give the GOP the tiebreaker vote in the Senate and could cause endless headaches for the then new President.

What I think is most likely to happen here is Kamala becomes President the House elects either Hillary or Big Mike to be VP. Everyone "knows" Hillary or Obama are really in charge at that point and either Hillary or Big Mike becomes the nominee in 2024 as Kamala decides not to run for re-election.

Big Mike seems way more likely to me and it's a backdoor way for Obama to show the world he's still in control.

The 22nd Amendment says "No person shall be elected to the office of the President more than twice". It doesn't say anything about getting into the office by other means.

The Speaker of the House doesn't have to be a member of Congress. They can be anyone voted in by the House of Representatives.
