The only way to prevent cell phone tracking is to not have a cell phone.
And if you dont want your IRL conversations recorded, stay away from anyone with a cell phone.
Otherwise you are being indexed, no matter what you do

It's been discussed here. Haven't tried or tested removing any chips. That's probably impossible because ALL cellphones use only two manufactures - Qualcom and MediaTek.

You could also buy the Librem 5. It has physical 'kill switches' built in. It's not cheap.

Most phones if not all phones have two SIM cards. One internal and the one your provider gives you to install. That second SIM can be remotely activated by a provider and even after service is canceled and the primary SIM card removed. They can still track your phone, listen to your calls, make calls, install and uninstall or alter apps. Whatever they want to do...second internal battery as well which can be charged from capacitor and used to keep your phone functioning even if main battery removed or discharged
