reading thru some of the info in the replies. to catch MP u need to b exposed to a lot of it. we shouldn't pick up enuf touching anything after an infected person. unless that item is in a saturated environment like a hospital room or the item is saturated like a piece of clothing they wore.

this means we should b safe for now. as class rooms fill up and more ppl are infected and walking around, the risk will go up.

there is some talk that a little exposure to a few MP particles could b beneficial. they could help us build an immunity up. as the MP most likely will continue to mutate, i don't recommend exposing oneself on purpose.

word of caution- much of the info is based on original MP from AFRICA which this version is not.

It does look like you need to get a high viral load. Hence the pox touching you.

i agree PARA. but we do have knowledge of what covid did. what should have happened based on the evidence we had early on and what covid actually did are quite different.

not saying MP will b exactly like what we saw with covid but i do think it will b closer to that than a smallpox full blown outbreak. at least in the short run and in most places.

for instance, we know the cheap cloth masks do little to stop any virus. the way ppl remove them and touch everything should have caused more cases. hell many ppl just pull the masks down under their chins breathing in all the contaminates the mask caught.

based on what i see on the ground here, covid mutated down as it spread from ITALY to NYC and then inland. last i looked bout 25% or the total population locally had covid according to the case counts. that doesn't account for re-infections. cases otherwise would have been way higher.

covid will play havock in enclosed spaces where ppl stay for longer periods of time. schools, hospitals, and restaraunts. churches have also shown to help spread covid. gyms ,swimming pools, and sports will help spread MP via seating. masks won't change that.

i think by now most here are doing enuf to help protect them from exposures of any virus including MP. the public thou is not and are ill-informed. will they think this is just like chickenpox or freak out?

do u see the fine print? most of the deaths will b children. that % will b way higher than 10. to get 10% of the total, the % of children will have to b 30% or more.

ppl will give up lots of freedoms and normalcy to keep that # lower.

Yes. CDC did show that monkey pox was airborne. I saw it. And if you research the WHO website, it also shows it is airborne. Or at least it did when I saw it.

COVID infections at colleges exploded. No one died or was hospitalized because it is a virus and they are young.

situation being monitored. infected person is only 1 in quarantine. kids can come and go to daycare as before. just test em.

actually b hard to find data to state that either way.

there were arguements over which place would claim some bodies. saw death counts fluctuate daily at times. do u count the death where the person died or where the person lived? does a a person live at home or school? even now chgarts are different from the local health depts and John Hopkins.

i live on the border of 2 states many times ppl cross from 1 to the other even to b tested let alone admitted to hospitals. that's not even considering nursing homes or colleges or employment. colleges did try the same trick. none wanted to claim any illness. so let the case b counted under their parent's place of residency. and do u honestly believe the home county logged them? let alone the deaths.

there are probably 1,000's or millions of cases in limbo or just missing from the counts. let alone cases and deaths that were mis-diagnosed.

deaths are 0, less it is you or your family. if it is your child death rate is 100%. all in perspective.

Well, that's a stupid thing to do, because it can be a 21 day incubation period. So if that woman was exposed 21 days ago, then went to work and touched everything....which exposed kids, then the kids could have up to 21 days to show symptoms......meanwhile, more people touch more surfaces...and then the kids start infecting their parents, and their parents start infecting their co-workers, etc....

They don't care if its safe. They want the parents to go to work to keep the wheels turning no matter the cost.

The FDA is allowing a monkeypox vaccine that is not approved for children to be used for children who may have been exposed to the infected daycare worker. Let me translate: they are really, really worried about how serious monkeypox is in children.

that is just it. your 2 statements contradict. they need ppl working to prop up supply chains while they work to build the infrastructure for the robots replacements. yet they aren't working to slow the spread.

calm the public for now and use vaxes to delay the inevitable. just buys some time. the Great Experiment to find a real vax for covid is on going. even if they are close to that, it has not been tested against all viruses and circumstances.

to me, it starts to point at them knowing more virus outbreaks are coming. so they are working to get the public used to them happening. there is more inaction now than with covid. and instead of using the proven vaccines on MP, they are throwing a new 1 at it.

if the goal was to salvage the supply chains, they would work to slow the spread. which would help keep workers at their posts. they already know something bigger and are readying the ppl for it. they walk ppl slowly toward major changes. small steps that appear to make little sence but toward a bigger picture.

i think for now they are trying to figure out how fast MP spreads within the metro's. mayb they think they can deal with pockets of outbreaks.

The incubation is up to 21 days. The kids were just infected this past week!

They still have 14 days to go to see if the kids are also spreading it to their friends and classmates.

They do not care about those kids, classrooms, close contacts etc.

They just want to see what will happen, like their little personal petri dish in a lab experiment.

After wards they will just shrug with indifference...

Here we go. I have a bad feeling about this. I think it's going to spread to the entire general population.

I wish they would at least say how many of each sex, and the age ranges, so we can know if it's spreading to women and children.
