Very true unfortunately a tank of gas lasts me 2 days if I don’t drive I don’t make money

I have a hell of a commute I need to fill up 2 and 1/2 times a week. This is going to get crazy!

Enjoy. I paid 5.799 for 87 octane here in Nor Cal this morning.

Thankfully I am retired so do not have a daily commute, but the nearest store is over 10 miles away.

Your car is better off with premium anyway.

I feel for you guys in California I used to live there. If the fuel runs out however cost won’t make any difference.

That’s interesting I may try that. I track my milage in a spreadsheet anyway I haven’t tried premium but I have tracked my milage in a flex fuel truck I have which gets 17.5 mpg on regular unleaded and a solid 14 even on e85 the cost was about the same when it was all said and done. I should do the same with premium in my car and see if I get similar results to yours.

Premium gas is only "good" for your car if the engine is setup to use it. Otherwise, it does nothing and is a waste of money.

There's actually very little benefit to go above 87 octane for 99% of vehicles

It’s a true story I am hoping they just couldn’t get fuel delivered and they’ll have some this afternoon but things don’t look good and that’s why I posted this not to complain about what happened to me but to add to the information one can actually green from this website because things don’t look good and soon we all may have trouble fueling our vehicles not to mention power equipment like mowers too.

$5.30 a gallon for unleaded regular this afternoon in Eastern Long Island, NY. Up 30 cents since this past weekend.

Gas is $4.80 here in MD!!

My car for sure gets better mileage, but you have to do the math on whether the price difference + the mile spells out to savings. Your car does need to be tuned for it.

This happened last week to me. In Peoria AZ. One gas station was out completely and the other only had premium. I've never experienced this in my 30 years of life.
