My prediction is that it will never happen for 90% of those with student loan debt. On the day of the midterm elections, Biden’s spokesperson will announce that $10K will be forgiven for those making under $40K and are in our country illegally.

You should be more concerned about the credit card debt. Last year, 52% of Americans had $7K or more charged on their card(s). This year it jumped to 70%. This means most can’t live on their present income stream and the rest are morons for buying useless toys.

I just want to comment that I notice every single time a thread gets posted on this topic no one ever touches the argument revolving around bankruptcy and peoples inability to claim student loans during bankruptcy since 2002 whereas it was allowed prior to that

You know, a thought occurred to me. Ever since the Left floated this idea during the campaign, then actually ‘won’ both Houses and the Exec; how many people simply stopped making their student loan payments anticipating a free ride? I would hazard a guess that an awful lot of them likely did…making their personal financial situation decidedly worse. Bad credit scores, penalties, compounded interest backing up, etc.

I think all of that false hope that the Left was selling was absolutely intentional…putting a lot of people in poor financial straights. Killing their ability to pull credit for a car or a home or even a decent apartment. Destroying their independence and forcing them into greater dependence on the government.

I also guarantee that those completely underwater now don’t even see how they were played, and who the real culprits are in this. Also, while the Left never actually followed through with this promise, here they are once again dangling it out there in time for the midterms.

Democratic voters absolutely deserve the party that represents them, because they fall for the same old tricks again and again and NEVER learn. It’s always someone else’s fault that they never get what was promised…even when the Dems control Congress and the Presidency.

In 2010, Obama eliminated the federal guaranteed loan program, which let private lenders offer student loans at low interest rates. Now, the Department of Education is the only place to go for such loans.

Just the ones who sign it. I got my college paid for through athletic and academic scholarships. This it’s not their fault is absolute bullshit. My wife and I sacrificed for years to pay hers off do we get a refund. We could have easily paid the min or ignored it.

Just another example of population collapse punish the responsible and bailout those who choose to fail.

The reason for that is because student loans were made “blind” the lender had to allow the loan regardless of your ability (history) of paying back loans.

This is how we got into this situation. Telling people you can get 30 K a year to live it up for 6 years you just need to pass 1/2 your classes with a D average. Then you pay the min a few hundred dollars until you die and you’re good.

Several people NEVER intend to pay ANYTHING back. They took 150 K for 6 party years to get kicked out finally and work at Wendy’s anyway!!

Honestly they work the student loan system better than the welfare system.
