I installed Windows on several older computers and never had a problem. In fact it made some very slow, old computers very fast, although I mostly just used for internet. What do you mean by a stuttering sound? That doesn't even sound Linux related. Linux is just the operating system, not the sound board. Maybe you just need to load a driver for it? |

Modify the line by adding a space plus tsched=0 so that the line looks like this: load-module module-udev-detect tsched=0 Then restart Pulseaudio.. pulseaudio -k pulseaudio --start Yeah right, NOTHING IS FIXED! I've had Mint running on a Latitude 7470 for a couple of years, and so far I've had decent luck. Good luck on your quest. It's worth it. |

Quoting: Amanda 82677350 Amanda Yea that happens sometimes, specific hardware will have an issue with a specific distro. If you aren't tech savvy enough to fix it then try a different distro. I recommend Pop Os! I don't like pop os, maybe i'll try Kubuntu or Lubuntu. Amanda |

Yeah your post makes no sense. Any “sounds” would not be hardware related and sounds like a hard drive issue. The issue is not software related |

Personally I don't like gnome either and agree you should try Kubuntu for the KDE desktop! I'm running EndeavourOS with KDE and it's awesome! |
