I was a "proud" tipper when in my 20's. My sister was a waitress and complained about making only 100-200/day and I thought while I made a lot less, I was worth more and would one day make more than her. So I paid everyone at least 25% my bill after tax. Quoting: Anonymous Coward 83302817 Now I'm older, and worth more, and I read "do you want to tip" mandatory on checkout for a "carry out" order. I code, so I know nothing lands on a page randomly. The option to not tip is the smallest checkbox, all other tip percents are larger. It's pathetic. Tip before they even start, and they treat you like you're in their pocket. I learnt this with delivery guys, don't pre-tip and they take longer to deliver, tip and they deliver in normal time but call you to say "I'm outside" when they're about 5 minutes away. If you think you deserve a tip on a carryout order, you're basically saying you're running an unadvertised daily sale that no body appreciates. It's cowardice to act like we have customs in America outside get what you can take. That's just pettiness. Don't let pettiness keep you from a good meal. They're hard enough to find. Good on you for picking it up yourself tho. replies_reshmies |
