Tim Ryan whipping JD Vance in Ohio Senate poll: 2024 candidate down the road? | |
Anonymous Coward User ID: 82348691 United States 07/08/2022 08:22 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | White people still vote Democratic, especially in the Midwest. It's not the South. Quoting: Jersey Doves I see it all the time in NJ. Even some white cops and firefighters vote Democratic. Appealing candidates like Tim Ryan and Sherrod Brown have a chance because they stick to message. Blue collar Democrat Tim Ryan is beating JD Vance 43 percent to 34 percent.... [link to www.newsweek.com (secure)] ...in all fairness...when does Newsweek show honest polls? You have Tim Ryan who is a known congressman from the North East of Ohio (Cleveland/Akron) ...a strong Union area. vs. JD Vance who nobody likes and doesn't even reside in the state. And if Newsweek says it is 9%...it is more likely 3-5. Not much of a lead considering all his advantages. |
Anonymous Coward User ID: 82248180 United States 07/08/2022 09:34 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Way to early ... but Tim Ryan did spend a fortune on early TV ads this summer so as to set the tone as to who he is and to make sure everybody knew he was NOT part of the Liberal WOKE crowd of the Northeast/California. They were well done ads. JD Vance has yet to start TV advertising for the general election ... so of course he is going to be behind at this stage of the game. At this point in time the general public is clueless about him and what he stands for. Race WILL tighten once JD Vance starts advertising also ... and since Ohio now leans right it should be a horserace even with Tim Ryan trying to portray himself as an Ohio version of Joe Manchin of West Virginia. |

Very Solid interpretation. Although Ohio 'leans right'....I would have to say it is the hotbed of RINO republicanism. Kasich, Portman, DeWine all pretty much worthless. JD Vance - to me seems like a liberal dressed up as a fake Trump guy. Will be interesting to see how he runs. I know Ryan is trying to get to Vance's right on law and order issues. I don't know if his record as a Congressman supports that. |
