Should Putin have taken out Soros when he had the chance

No best not to. Soros, despite what horribleness he is, is a citizen of the US and Hungary. Both are NATO nations too.

Putin needs to keep to Ukraine. If he starts going after foreign citizens, especially one as influential as Soros, it'll be a huge international incident and give NATO an excuse to attack Russia.

And it wouldn't change anything. Soros is only one gear in the machine. And because he's such a public face, not likely an important one.

Although he always looks like he's one foot in the grave so time will do it soon enough anyways.
