As well as a desiccant, spraying with Glyphosate causes the plant to release it's remaining energy in the root into the head, increasing yield as well.

Careful use of Glyphosate is very effective defoliant, weed rogue and volunteer crop killer, that is quickly neutralized by the soil. But all crops (including animal feed) should be tested for traces of Glyphosate and heavy fines imposed by anyone trading in contaminated products.

I agree that there has been something very wrong with (some) wheat that caused my gut to become incredibly painful (excessive yeast damage). It took 6 months to fully fix by limiting wheat, especially whole grain bread, pasta and sweetened wheat products especially.

I cured it myself partly with the help of this place, replacing meals with yoghurt and oatmeal (porridge) for breakfast - which I continue to this day. Now I can eat wheat again without problem. Live yoghurt improved the symptoms immediately.
