I used to be brainwashed, went to church, participated, hook, line, and sinker. I was always rebellious, but it took time and questioning everything before I freed myself of my past and subsequent behavior. For the last 30 years I've attempted to reverse-engineer my past. It took losing friends, breaking traditions, disappointing professional contacts, too. Essentially, disconnection from all contacts of peer pressure, or family pressure. Years pass. After totally confirming my assumptions as being correct, I now venture out into family get-togethers and meet old friends as the new me with no tolerance for bullshit. I tell them exactly what I think, and I don't give a shit what they think about me. That is total freedom and the prize for taking such a path. It may not be for everyone, but I sleep easy knowing that others have nothing on me, or over me. Now I always look for "the angle" or the "scam" in all discussions, it helps to perceive the world as it is, not as the way The Powers That Be want us to see it. How old were you when you broke free? 9/11 woke me up. The whole thing smelled funny immediately. This happened today and you know who did it and it's a guy on dialysis in a cave in Afghanistan?!?! And nobody else sees a problem here? And a magic passport fell from the sky, intact through a fireball of jet fuel, which was recovered and immediately used to identify the "bad guys" I didn't get why ANYONE would believe that obvious load of shit. I was 22 I think. Never a conformist by a long shot but hadn't had any real reason to question the entire system until then, but after that my views on everything changed. I can relate to ac 062, I spent the first half of my life trying to be perfect and fit in. 150 range and did not break free until my early 40's. I knew I was different but did not know how or why. I got tested out of curiosity when I received an invitation to take the test from mensa with a personal letter in the mail in my late 20's and then found out they had kept the results of my other tests from me from when I was younger, growing up as a ward of the court, they deliberately did not tell me when I was young. |

The people in my life that are the most terrified about their mortality are invariably those of the liberal persuasion. When I talk to them about them personally getting a horrible and/or fatal disease, it is way too easy to get them to show anxiety symptoms in their body language or speech. So, think about it. What group of mentality compromise the most rabid and freaked out when it comes to COVID-19? What group has a inordinate fear of an inanimate object like a gun? What group is completely freaked about the idea the climate would change so much in their lifetime that it would kill them that they become rabid and unreasonable to the point of zealotry and bigotry? What group is strongly attracted to the idea of a large, all encompassing government to keep them safe from harm and fed? What group is so afraid of pissing off a violent criminal that they apologize for being who they are and 'oppressing' the criminal? The list can go on and on and on. These idiots are just a bunch of weak minded fearful children who are afraid of change, pain, and all others that might have more power over their lives than they do. So I'm not trying to brag here, but genuinely in the interest of hearing your thoughts on why people who possess the intelligence to theoretically be able to see the world for what it is, instead fall into the same trap that seems to me should be reserved for retards only. I have noticed that REBELLIOUS people tend to be the group who most consistently seemed to know to avoid the vax, to question authority, to recognize that the mainstream media is pure propaganda. So my theory is that there is a segment of society which is effectively "immune" from the brainwashing, but that this occurs mainly because these people, somewhere along the line made a conscious choice to think for themselves, to not blindly follow the heard and to do what is right/logical even if that is not what is EASY. I will also add that almost to the T, every highly intelligent sheeple that I have encounter has been a hardcore liberal, and live surrounded by liberals, have liberal families, etc. So this would point towards a peer pressure explanation. My thoughts on the brainwashed smart people is that these are the people the learned to play the game, do their homework, kiss up to the teacher, etc because generally life rewards those traits, and somewhere along the line those behavioral patterns overtook their natural intelligence to the point where individual that is (generally) not rewarded by our society, OBEDIENCE is, and like a lab test monkey that will push the morphine button until it dies because the reward system has over-ridden their common sense and survival instincts. Lucky for me I skipped all the bullshit liberal arts core classes, only went to classes I liked (so mostly music classes, some math & science classes) and as a result most of the liberal brainwashing bullshit missed me, and I could quite easily detect and dismiss the little bit that I did encounter. I am mildly concerned with this as a parent, my kids have been home with me for the last few years, and we have been doing homeschool but they are going back to public school in a few weeks because they want to see their friends (who I feel like we did an excellent job of staying in touch with, as evidenced by the fact that they are still close friends). My hope is that my guidance and future guidance accompanied by close supervision of their schoolwork scanning for woke bullshit keeps their heads on straight. I know they are already miles ahead of their peers, they read non fiction, play musical instruments, play chess, don't use social media and don't have phones. What I think will be really crucial is that they already understand the way PROPAGANDA works and how media and even education manipulates people... This is what is sticking with me from the various posts, and my rethinking the subject based on the perspectives presented in this thread. And someone mentioned FEAR and that is also a good point as fear is one of the mostly likely things to lead to irrational behavior. I also "don't give a rats ass" so to speak. I don't participate in social media, I didn't care if I was "one of the popular kids" and I really don't care if people like me. In today's ass backwards world this attribute is practically a superpower. I actually remember the exact day and situation where I "stopped giving a shit" I was in 4th grade and 2 of "the popular kids" had made fun of me that day. As a bigger kid who didn't seek approval, I really didn't get picked on much at all, but this day something happened and I was upset about it, and then I remember distinctly thinking "why am I so upset about this?" And it clicked in my young head that those "bully" type kids were looking for a reaction and all of their power depended on me caring what they thought. I'm not going to pretend life was entirely perfect after that, but my perspective changed. I found a few genuine people, I always preferred having a few or even just one REAL friend instead of trying to be part of the pack. I was myself, take it or leave it, and if people didn't like me for me, that was OK but I wasn't going to try to be anything else. The same bullies that I recognized then are the ones saying "if you don't do the thing everyone is doing like blind retarded sheep then you are killing grandma" well... I guess that sucks for grandma, but peer pressure has no power over me. Its like that vile person trump. He would only have people around him he thought were winners, but most of them are useless. He picked them as he thought only people that have loads of money can be smart. Same thing. Loads of very smart people, are good at repeating, they are quite bad at original thought. Most people who goto oxford, or harvard will never have an original thought in there lifes. They are just exceptional at repeating information others released to public consumption. Repeaters do what they do very well. But they are often quite poor for thinking up there own ideas. They are so into repeating they are obsessed with socalled experts, and think only experts know the truth. Like stanton friedman said on new ideas, new innovation comes from doing things differently. Repeaters who most smart people are, lack that natural way to think originally and for themselves. They are just very good at repeating knowledge. They are often quite bad at analysing things for themselves, as they are so invested in whats always been found out, and they think repeaters like them are the only way. Thats why so many smart people can be easily brainwashed by garbage monsters like bill gates. They assume just because of his position he must be right, but why? I worked in both office jobs, and building work, and i can tell you alot of builders are smarter then most office workers, as they can think for themselves, and most office workers cannot. |
