That's now how it works. There are multiple types of radar detection. Not all of them require a straight direct line.

One type involves reflecting signals off the ionosphere at an angle and that allows it to go over the curvature of the Earth and see things beyond that distance.

Before you question it you should at least look up what the technology actually does. Planes also send out their own internal signals that any station can pick up.

I believe you're correct in stating that this is to complicated for a flat earthtard to figure out. There are plenty of other experiments to prove the earth is a sphere which the majority of middle school students can accomplish, but the majority of flat earthtards can not due to the lack of common scents.
