This means it goes to every fat cell BEFORE it can really get to work in the immune system. You can't just hugely dose on Vitamin D and have it work (but even that is better than nothing) because it has to become incorporated into the body. Another reason for deficiency is that 'vitamin' D is synthesized in the kidneys. It must complete the process to become bioavailable inside the kidney, and very unfortunately, the kidney prioritizes dealing with sugars and if there are a lot of sugars present, then making the vitamin D bioavailable doesn't happen at all well. One fascinating thing about 'vitamin' D is that it is the only 'vitamin' which is present inside the alveoli, the berry-like sacs inside your lungs which do the conversion of oxygen and CO2, and which get oxygen inside the blood vessels.
