In the Garden of Eden were Adam and Eve, and later their offspring, vegetarian, carnivores, or omnivores?

The only reason I mentioned carnivores is that there is a medical doctor in Australia who claims eating plant life is deadly because of a plant's natural defense mechanism. For example, broccoli has almost 190 carcinogens.

I don't know about before because it doesn't say, but after the flood God said it was OK to eat meat.

from that, it easy to assume that those that followed God before the flood were Veggies, who knows.

You should read Genesis in Hebrew. It appears the Elohim (angels) created man first. Then the Most High formed Adam later. In Hebrew the word for God is two entirely different words with different meanings. Not to mention the first man was created and Adam was formed, different words and meaning. You'll never understand the Bible if you only read the English. Just saying.

Cain and Able offered sacrifices to God. Able offered meat, Cain offered veggies.

They were omnivorous.

Re: In the Garden of Eden were Adam and Eve, and later their offspring, vegetarian, carnivores, or omnivores?
Well, we see that Abel was a keeper of sheep, and he offered one to God YHVH, so it is certainly likely they were eating meat quite early. Maybe not before the original sin, as i doubt they were killing animals in Eden spilling blood before the first sin.

Genesis 4

2 And she again bare his brother Abel. And Abel was a keeper of sheep, but Cain was a tiller of the ground.

3 And in process of time it came to pass, that Cain brought of the fruit of the ground an offering unto the Lord.

4 And Abel, he also brought of the firstlings of his flock and of the fat thereof. And the Lord had respect unto Abel and to his offering:

5 But unto Cain and to his offering he had not respect. And Cain was very wroth, and his countenance fell.

Re: In the Garden of Eden were Adam and Eve, and later their offspring, vegetarian, carnivores, or omnivores?
Scripture would indicate that humans were herbivores prior to the flood. God specifically gave Noah and his descendants permission to eat meat, one would assume because prior to that they weren't allowed to. Creationists argue that the planet was more capable of sustaining life prior to the flood, and that there was a greater variety of flora that had better nutrition than before.

Prophecy also says that in the Millennial Kingdom, when the earth is presumably restored to its pre flood state, that currently carnivorous animals will revert to eating flora. It also says that humans will live to be a thousand years old, which is approximately how long people were living prior to the flood, further suggesting that the Millennial Kingdom and pre flood earth might have very similar conditions, and supporting the idea that the pre flood world sustained flora capable of sustaining animals without the need to eat meat.

OP, this is a great question. The above view is fairly well documented in scripture. I would add, however, that death was also unknown until after Adam and Eve sinned. God created clothes out of skins which is addressed more in the Book of Enoch.

9 Then God blessed Noah and his sons, saying to them, “Be fruitful and increase in number and fill the earth. 2 The fear and dread of you will fall on all the beasts of the earth, and on all the birds in the sky, on every creature that moves along the ground, and on all the fish in the sea; they are given into your hands. 3 Everything that lives and moves about will be food for you. Just as I gave you the green plants, I now give you everything.

-- Genesis 9:1-3

29 Then God said, “I give you every seed-bearing plant on the face of the whole earth and every tree that has fruit with seed in it. They will be yours for food.

Yea that's a good point. They also sacrificed animals before the flood. Just no indication that they ate them, maybe because they had better, more appetizing options that were healthier.

 Quoting: Sole Survivor

Before Adam and Eve sinned, they ate every herb bearing seed. Its found in Gen. 1:29,30. They ate off every fruit bearing tree. They were created perfect and everything else God created was good. This might explain why Adam and his offspring lived multiple centuries.

After they sinned, is when God told Adam & Eve that in sorrow cursed is the ground for thy sake; in sorrow shalt thou eat of it all the days of thy life. Thorns also and thistles shall it bring forth to thee; and thou shalt eat the herb of the field;

In the sweat of thy face shalt thou eat bread, till thou return unto the ground; for out of it wast thou taken: for dust thou art, and unto dust shalt thou return.

Eventually men began to kill animals for food. Here is where we see that the longevity of men began to decrease from living to be 900+ years to eventually 500, 400, 300 and finally to 80yrs old especially after the global flood.

We were born into a Garden, not a Pharm/farm!

Don’t you remember!

We ate of the fruit and herbs of the permaculture garden…

We had grapes and watermelon with seeds…

Not the GMO crap that removes the seeds for “convenience”, when the seeds are good for us and many are anti parasitic in nature.

I want to go back to the garden where the lion laid with the lamb, nothing was killed and everyone lived long healthy lives without any parasitic or fungal infections.
