That is awesome. I have a buddy that was big into skydiving, after years he finally got me to do a tandem, did it at a place near Mt St Helens. It was amazing but the hang time in the parachute from pull to ground was enough for me to never do it again.

I get my adrenaline snowboarding, but all the power to you OP. What year was this?

i use to go every year! jumped a c-130, helio stallion, a stearman and the 727! greatest time i ever had jumping! thanks for the memory!

My wife, as you can see in the video, is a total natural. I have, maybe, 800 more jumps than she has (had), but she was way better of a skydiver than I was. You can see the comfort and confidence in her face. She was an amazing skydiver. She stopped jumping when somehow or other she got knocked up. I can only guess as to how that happened.

That's what I thought too! I really miss the swinging 70s. It isn't just because I was young, entering college then.:) It was a so-o-o much freer, happier time in this country. By 1980, the boot came down again, in a lot of ways, mainly with government overreach; it only got worse from then on.

I never forgot a story I read in 77, can't think why, in the comix when Fat Freddie got a job in sales and it turned out to be a shady one, selling defective smoke detectors, which gravely offended his sense of ethics. He got revenge and managed to take off with that little money tree the crooks were offering to whichever of them made the most sales.

I went to several Freak Brother skydiving conventions (early '80s). I can't fucking believe it's been 40 years now. Watching that video brings it all back like it was yesterday.

Roger Nelson died in a skydiving accident at some point after spending five years in federal lockup for either a drug charge or income tax evasion for not paying taxes on his drug profits.

Anyway, looking at this video... it makes me sick to hear that many millennials and Gen xers are sitting in mama's basement doing bong hits and playing video games. In this video most of us were in our mid 20s to late 30s and we were out living and loving life. We weren't sitting on our bitch asses getting high and wasting life away.

We all had jobs and would spend every dime we had left on skydiving (equipment and lifts to altitude).

We'd jump all day, party in the evening and then go fuck our goddamn brains out at night.

And another thing... to those of you who haven't had a bisexual girlfriend that gets off jumping out of airplanes...

I'm serious here... YOU DON'T KNOW WHAT YOU'RE MISSING.

And here we are... WE ARE YOUR FUCKING GRANDPARENTS at this point. Call us whatever names you want. We lived our lives more in our 20s and 30s than you will your entire existence.

There is another thing about this video that more or less applies to our political lives today...

In the beginning of the video all the jumpers are there looking sad as the narrator describes all the rules they have to follow on the drop zone.

The message: Life sucks with all these rules.

So, Roger Nelson has a dream where he has a convention WHERE THERE ARE NO RULES. It's all about FREEDOM. Freedom from rules, freedom from tyranny.

And that was the lure for skydivers to go to Freak Brothers. Skydive - NO RULES. And there weren't any.

Everyone was happy as fuck. Everyone was enjoying their life. IT was fucking great.

But now, fucking leftists want nothing more than MORE RULES.

MORE RULES SUCK.

If you haven't been through the happiness of a NO RULES environment then you suck and your ideas suck.

Democrats are all about rules and regs. They want to tell us how to live. They want to give us rules from what we eat to what we drive to the amount of water we can have in our toilets.

Roger Nelson and his brother were nicknamed the "Freak Brothers" by locals in their area because they were doing all kinds of freaky shit.

While farmers were trying to grow crops, the Nelson brothers were skydiving into them and shit.

Roger died when he had a canopy to canopy midair collision which collapsed his parachute about 50 feet in the air. He fell to his death.

He was a crazy mother fucker and the five years he spent in the BIG HOUSE didn't exactly tame him any.

I too remember the 80's. People used to have lives back then. And no-one could ever have guessed that would ever change.
