Now they're old enough to understand and take care of them better so I'll start buying again. You will NEVER be bored my friend. "ask and you will receive." "Somewhere down yonder." Quoting: Anonymous Coward 80283548 Yeah but... I'm such a homebody nowadays. I love going out but I love being home with family even more. "ask and you will receive." "Somewhere down yonder." Quoting: T-Man i have friends who like reading and they LOVE their e-readers (i like reading too but somehow reading on the internet all day doesnt equal reading a story in a book..) But I DO have to have actual books. Lol. My eye sight is already less than perfect. The phone wrecks that further. It's so much better to get a blankie and a snack or drink and cuddle up with a book. E-readers come with back light and you can adjust the size of the text for extra ease on the eyes. and have white letters on black background. and they take up less space obviously in case you go somewhere and want to bring several books. BUT i get how real books can be extra nice to have too |

I like my e-reader. there is site called 'z-library' you can find pretty much any book you want and download it. if the book has charts/graphs, e-readers are not ideal. but for most books they are great |

Culturally outdated by choice User ID: 70031027 United States 10/05/2022 03:26 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Me too. I have an embarrassingly large Kindle inventory, but if I really, truly like a book, I get a hard copy somehow. Haven't actually inventoried in a long while, but well over a thousand actual books in my collection. More deplorable all the time. |

Anonymous Coward User ID: 84325691 Argentina 10/05/2022 06:12 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | You couldn't pry me off of my book of choice as a kid. Quoting: GreenAngel3 I loved letting the book take me and my imagination away; I would get lost in it. I could read for hours. In school I was grade levels of reading above average. Now, we have smartphones and I spend wayyy too much time reading on mine. I'm sure lots still read but.... It's becoming more rare. We're always glued to reading our phones. It's so bad and so addicting. I realized, what am I doing? I need BOOKS!! Somewhere along the way I "lost" it. I'm gonna get it back! Gonna take my kids to the library and check out some for us both. I love kids books too; in real life I use different accents sometimes for fun and I can definitely incorporate those when reading their books. Lol. #tarded. Thrift shops always have a ton of new books too. I'm gonna have to go check it out. I'm buying my favorite books in paperback so I have entertainment for when the power grid finally dies. Probably won't be too long now... |
