i have a black walnut overhanging my bedroom. its loud when the walnuts fall, then about ten seconds later the red squirrel comes running across my roof to gather it up, lol

I was sitting outside today hearing the acorns fall.

Yeah, black walnut trees all over the place here. The ones that land on the roof roll into the rain gutters. Grrrr pain to clean up. The yard is covered with them. The squirrels collect them but there's a LOT more this year. You can't walk across the yard without stepping on a few.

All the the nuts/mast are large this year. Acorns, Beech nuts, pine nuts, walnuts... Trust me when I say that this means a cold winter ahead.
